One of the best hammers I've bought in years
As someone who owns several DEWALT tools, I had high expectations for this guy, and it didn't disappoint. This hammer is durable and well-made, living up to the brand's "Guaranteed Tough" reputation. Unlike traditional wood-handled hammers, this steel shaft feels strong. Perfect Balance: Despite being a 20 oz hammer, it feels balanced and controlled in the hand. The optimal weight distribution provides a more controlled swing. Smart Features: The integrated side nail puller is a game-changer for removing stubborn nails in tight spaces where a standard claw can't reach. Comfortable Grip: The textured, anti-slip grip remains secure even when my hands are sweaty. If you are looking for a professional-grade, no-nonsense hammer that can take a beating and keep performing, this is it. It’s easily the best hammer in my toolbox.

Solid, well-balanced hammer
Very solid and well-balanced 20 oz hammer. The weight feels just right — heavy enough to drive nails easily but not overly tiring for longer use. The grip is comfortable and has good shock absorption, which makes a noticeable difference compared to cheaper hammers. The claw is sharp and sturdy, making nail removal easy without bending. Overall, great build quality and feels durable. Definitely a reliable tool to keep in the garage or toolbox.

Good heavyweight construction hammer, affordable
I have used these DeWalt hammers frequently on construction sites, including different weights etc, and for different purposes--framing, concrete work, general purpose demolition. After losing my previous DeWalt on a remodel job and replacing it with a Milwaukee hammer I found at Home Depot, I ordered this for ten dollars less than I payed for either hammer. The weight on this hammer is nice for heavy work; its slightly heavier than my former 16 oz DeWalt and my 20 oz Milwaukee and will be very useful for demo and knocking 2x4 or 2x6 around, out of place or into place, and driving nails or flushing up boards or setting nails. General purpose. Of course, the waffle design of this hammer head means, don't use it on finished, painted surfaces. My favorite features of these metal DeWalt hammers are their durability and heavyweight build, which makes them just as good for pulling nails as for setting them, and less prone to bending and breaking when prying (unless you're really pushing it). I especially appreciate their narrower handle size and slight curve, which make them easier to hold than the fatter handles. The magnet at the head of the hammer occasionally comes in handy for me--I have a way of forgetting it's there until I really need it. From experience I expect that the extra weight of this 22 oz means that frequent, repetitive, or all-day use, (especially over many days), could cause real soreness in the forearms and wrists. I don't mean like carpal tunnel from typing a lot. I mean like "Get up in the middle of the night and take some ibuprofen because you can't sleep because your arms hurt because you were framing all day." If that's what you're doing for a few weeks at a time and you don't have giant football-player hands, think about getting a lighter hammer. NOTE: Originally, I thought I had received a used hammer because there was some damage on the metal neck and claw. But the waffle face on the hammer head was totally clean, and the product card was still factory-taped around the shaft. It looks like something happened to the hammer, but not like it was used for framing. Maybe it fell A LOT before or during shipping. I feel like I could deduct a star for this reason, but really I'm going to beat this hammer up on the job anyway, and the damage is light.
