Excellent Plant-Based Protein Powder
I recently tried the Protein Works Pea Protein Isolate in the Chocolate Silk flavour, and I am thoroughly impressed. As someone who follows a plant-based diet, finding a high-quality protein powder that ticks all the boxes can be challenging, but this one does just that. First off, the taste is fantastic. Chocolate Silk is rich and smooth, making it a pleasure to drink. Unlike some other plant-based proteins, there’s no gritty texture or unpleasant aftertaste. I mix it with water or almond milk, and it blends well without any clumps. The nutritional profile is impressive. It’s 100% plant-based and natural, with no added sugar or gluten, which is perfect for my dietary needs. Each serving provides a solid amount of protein, making it ideal for post-workout recovery or as a supplement to my daily intake. I’ve noticed an improvement in my energy levels and muscle recovery since I started using it. Another great feature is its versatility. I’ve used it in smoothies, baking, and even in my morning oats, and it works wonderfully in all these applications. It adds a nice chocolate flavour without overpowering the other ingredients. The 1kg packaging is convenient and provides good value for money. The resealable bag keeps the powder fresh and is easy to store. The only minor downside is that it can be slightly more expensive than some other plant-based protein powders, but the quality and taste justify the price. Overall, Protein Works Pea Protein Isolate is a top-notch product for anyone looking for a high-quality, plant-based protein supplement. It’s tasty, nutritious, and versatile, making it a fantastic addition to any diet. Highly recommended!

Good choice for lean muscle gain on a plant-based diet
I've tried many plant-based protein powders over the years and this has eventually become my go-to choice. I got tired of chasing the best price across powders with very inconsistent quality and now pick this one up regularly. It's usually reasonably priced (could be a bit cheaper but that's the case with pretty much all powders). Provided you give it a good shake It mixes well (don't let it sit for too long or it clumps), it's a fairly thick mix so I just use the one scoop, it tastes decent and packs a good amount of protein. I usually mix it with creatine and psyllium husk as a morning pre-workout shake. In the periods that I've been actively counting my calories and protein, I've been noticeably putting on muscle, so for me personally this has been a quality protein for lean muscle gain.

Tastes better then I expected, thick, smooth shake
I have not tried many protein shakes so I have none I can really compare this to, however I have just made my first shake from this packet. So here is what I found.. The 'tear here' as with most packets is useless, use scissors! I tore this and still couldnt get in making it worse with shaky arms from the work out.. You have to use 300ml of water or plant based drink, it seems like alot, just over one of my usual cups I drink from. I will be drinking it OVER the hour, let alone within the hour after workouts. I am using an oat drink. I had to actually DIG around in the powder to find the grey scoop, which was a little messy. It did though give me the opportunity to give the powder a good 'feel'. It is very fine and silky, soft feeling, which was actually quite pleasant to feel. Now, I dont have an actual shaker so I had to use something else (yes it went everywhere but it was a contained messed). The drink itself is very thick, though not too thick that it makes it harder to swallow. It is very smooth though I can JUST detect some fine specks. The packet itself, doesnt close up very easily at all. I still have that to tackle when I get back into the kitchen. The taste.. this is where I am uncertain. Whilst it isnt as bad as I expected here is a definite strong taste present that unfortunately stays in your mouth afterwards. I can only assume this is the 'taste of protein' as I cannot recognise it as being chocolate. Whilst not overpowering I can smell/taste is as I go to take a drink, it is unmissable and I do not think I could drink a whole 300ml of this. I am approaching half way down my cup and I am already eyeing it with uncertainty. Maybe a half dose would be best... EDIT: My next shake I made half the amount of milk/powder and added a level tsp of cocoa powder. MUCH better! Ok I am only getting half the amount of protein though it is better than none. April 2024 update: I am still drinking this using half portions! I tried the unflavoured, though it wasnt as nice so I am now mixing half choc half unflavoured. I tell you what, it is SO nice!. I bought this on offer 1kg bag of chocolate for £13. I dont know WHY its currently on for £70+. Please dont buy it at that price. The usual price has been around £18-£20. ( I am updating my review whilst I am here to buy the large pack!)

Good quality and tasty if served cold
At first the taste was terrible when mixing at the gym with not so cold water. It mixes well with the correct amount of water with no lumps. The price was excellent when it was on offer, so glad I stocked up. I found the trick was make sure its very cold by storing it in the fridge for a while and then it tastes like a silky thick chocolate milkshake. It could also be that the taste grows on you but serving cold definitely helps. This is perfect for people that are lactose intolerant like me and whey protein caused me flatulence and stomach cramps. No side effects at all with this product. Recommended

Protein powder
Not very chocolatey, smoothest in texture I’ve tried yet .

Awful powder
Tastes disgusting, nothing like chocolate, it mixes with water terribly. Will definitely never buy it again.

Really good!
Tastes great, sweet but as expected. Not too sweet. Fills you up nicely. I use with cold unsweetened almond milk and it is fab. Tastes like a good chocolate milkshake. I put mine in the blender and add blueberry powder but if you don’t have a blender or have time, I would add the powder in bit by bit and stir as you go, then shake. Really impressed with this powder and price point. I used to use the Arbonne pea protein but at £75 a pop it was ridiculous. This is just as good and nice.

Great in overnight oats
I'm intolerant to wheat, soya, and milk, so a lot of protein powders are off limits to me. Being pea protein, this is pretty much the only option for me that doesn't upset my stomach. I use this in my overnight oats, which gives me a good level of protein from my breakfast. The texture of the power is quite light and dusty, compared to whey protein which tends to be a bit heavier. I don't personally mix it with water to drink, so I can't comment on the texture for drinking. Overall, I think the value for money here is great, only needing to buy a replacement every 4 weeks or so.
