Making money right out of the box
Must have for MVAC technicians, sniff out leak like a bloodhound on a mission, picked up a small evaporator leak without even taking anything apart.

Super sensitive
Over the years I have had a number of different leak detectors. Different detector types for different situations, but this one is the bees knees. I had a leak in a large 60 by 65 chilled storage room with 2 evaporators on separate condensing units, one of which had a leak. Unsure if it was the condensing unit or the evaporator I turned the unit on,waited till the unit had initialized (about 90 seconds) opened the chiller door and entered. As soon as I was inside the detector went into alarm so I knew I was at the right place, reduced the sensitivity and proceeded to locate the leak. This detector saves so much time it pays for itself quickly and with a usb charging battery, no worries about carrying spares.

Was used and not checked out.
The leak detector itself is a very good unit. The first one we ordered was brand new and it was not a lick of trouble out of it it worked great. However it got left on a trailer and fell off so I ordered a new one and it was supposedly a certified like new unit. It never worked right. I ordered another one and guess what same problem. I was told by the manufacturer to be careful ordering these through Amazon like that because many of the people sell them will get them back and not even check them out and resell them. I think that's what happened to me. If you order get new or if you get one make sure it's coming from Amazon so you can make sure you get your guarantee

worth every penny
if you want a top of the line refrigerant leak detector then look no further.sure its expensive but its defintately worth every penny knowing that you know exactly where the leak is coming from.especially if a evaporator core is leaking.evaporator cores are very labor intensive and knowing where the leak is coming from is a great piece of mind.now there are different options if you dont want this high end one but rest ashured you get what you pay for.

2 major issues, thanks to Amazon for support/refund, gonna re-order
I have d-tek select and been very happy with the tool. So, I purchased "the new" d-tek stratus for backup tool in Feb 2021. This new d-tek stratus had 2 faults. The beep sound was very low, I couldn't hear the beep on site due to the surrounding noisy on site. Also the power & volume buttons are very hard to push, the volume selections are only 2, 0% or 100%(but very low volume) only, instead of 3 as written on the manual. I emailed to inficon, the manufacturer, and was told that "this unit was part of a batch that had bad audio jacks." If only the manufacturer tested this product, they would've notice the issue straight away, and fixed the issue before they distribute & sold it. It's obvious the manufacturer didn't perform QC at all. I tried to repair it under warranty, but found it is very hard to proceed with warranty repair. Amazon USA kindly offered refund. I really hope the manufacturer, inficon fix these issue by the time I re-order this item. Anyway, great thanks to Amazon for accepting return/refund.

Works great
Update- Upon using this at several locations I find it sensitive and can get down to the actual leak with using proper technique. It doesn't false every Tim I bump it like others. I'm pleased with it. It located a tiny leak that wasn't responding to bubbles. Not as sensitive as I expected it to be si far however I have only used it twice. The battery door on the end has come off twice unexpectedly. My old one (discontinued by inficon) would false alarm intermittently which was a nuisance. I'll update at a later date

Does not perform as advertised.
Tested in on an evaporator coil that not only has a leak but I knew exactly where it was. My 150 dollar leak detector picked it right up and it in my opinion is a terrible leak detector. I had already verified where the leak was with liquid leak detect. I started the this leak detector outside and when it warmed up I switched it to PPM thinking it would give me a reading when I walked inside. Not only did it not give me a reading, but didnโt detect the leak when I was on top of it. This has been the case several times so I would not recommend this tool and I will most likely try to send it back

No warranty if you buy in Canada. .
Amazon will tell you to call the manufacturer for repairs. Inficon (The manufacturer) refuses to service the product since they say they don't sell to Amazon Canada. Product broke in less than 2 months. Previously bought the same product and it lasted for over 10 years. The quality and craftsmanship has drastically deteriorated.
