Perfect for NVME drive OS migrations
Bought this enclosure to migrate Windows 10 on my PC to a new boot drive using Clonezilla (other migration software will also work). Installing my new NVMe drive (a WD SN850) in the enclosure was very easy, all screws and even a small screwdriver is included with the enclosure. Plugged it in to a USB-C port in Windows and I could see the drive right away. When booting in to CloneZilla to do the migration the drive kept getting write timeouts, as a test I moved the drive from the front USB-C port on my PC to a "normal" USB port at the back of my PC using the included USB-C -> USB3 port adapter. This time it worked flawlessly and was quite fast. I doubt this is an issue with the drive and more likely an issue with the drivers for the much newer USB-C chipset in Clonezilla. Adding that here as it may be useful to someone, try a normal USB port if USB-C gives you issues!

Cheap and cheerful, for once!
NVMe, not NGFF. Who knew there was a difference? (Not me!) Having bought 2 NGFF adapters, I discovered that M.2 SSDs are not all the same. I also discovered that NGFF adapters are often under a tenner, but NVMe adapters (or enclosures) are thirty quid. Great. Anyway, I needed NVMe, so I bought the cheapest I could find: this Aimos unit. Although cheaper, it has a pukka alluminium body. The 'brass' retaining/spacer screw is fixed so you don't have to fiddle, unlike the ultra-cheap NGFF jobbies. You even get an Aimos standard USB-to-USB3 titchy adapter, which must be essential for most of us, plus the dinky USB3 lead. The only negative for me is that it's difficult to see the activity light 'cos it's tiny and recessed. That said, it's the smallest negative detail. It worked right out the box, included the USB adapter I needed, and has an activity light. I am very pleased with this. EDIT: After a couple of weeks, I have deducted one star: sometimes the drive can take a very long time to get recoginised in Windows (10 or 15 minutes). Then it takes as long again after selecting a folder. It seems that having the USB3 plug one particular way up is preferable, though I have no idea why. (Also, running the USB3-to-USB standard adapter seems to mitigate this problem slightly; plus it's easy to see which way up the USB3 plug is - we put a small mark on ours.) Still, it works fine with this work around, so four stars seems okay.

The speed is very slow - only 42Mb/second
Very disappointed with the speed. I was expecting a faster device. Easy to install & use.
