Ouch! Loads of surprises. All good.
I figured for approximately half the price of the same machine when it was new and hundreds less than high-priced pre-owned Apple resellers offer, a 2 or 3 year old iMac would have lots of problems. Maybe a cheap keyboard and mouse. A scratched case. Dead pixels. Busted USB. Flakey logic board. But, I decided to take a gamble and buy this machine regardless of my trepidation. Then, the anxiously awaited day arrived. I saw the UPS van pull up out front and raced to the window protecting me from the Covid-19 infected world outside. The box came off the truck, and ... I was surprised from 100' away. It was the classic trapezoidal shipping container iMacs come in. Not some cheap, generic, rectangular box with bubble wrap stuffed inside. Legit Apple packing material. The UPS driver left it on my front doorstep, and keeping our social distancing, I thanked him. No need to sign and get contaminated, he said. I thanked him again. I sliced through the tape on the outer box, and lo-and-behold, a pristine Apple iMac box was inside. Not a scratch on the box, I noticed. Is this a red-herring, throwing me off, with a pile of bricks inside? I took the now-sterile inner box out of the outer box and then indoors, to slice through it's white sealing tape. Surprise. There's the standard Apple packaging, with a peripheral box nestled in it's groove on top. Designed by Apple, in California. Open it up, and yup, Magic 2 keyboard and mouse. Like new. Not even a hair, a smudge, a scratch... Surprise again. There's the iMac, delicately wrapped in it's outer light layer of protection, with an inner clear plastic layer covering the screen and parts that are oh-so-easy to scratch in packing. I peel off all the coverings, get down on my hands and knees, and look. Look harder. Turn it in the light. Look harder still. Wait, there it is! A scuff mark on the RAM bay door! Aha! I show my wife, point at it, and... it comes off. Not a scuff mark, a smudge. Not. A. Scratch. Perfect. Pristine. Ok, the electronics MUST be fried. It won't boot. Maybe it's locked by a corporate MDM. The Fusion Drive must be broken. Silently, it comes to life. That big, glorious screen in it's brilliant 500 cd/m2 glow, all 14,745,600 pixels alive. Boom, it's booted. So much faster than my old machine... I test all the ports I can. Stress test the system as much as possible, transferring files from backups, running Black Magic (873 MB/s write, 1388 MB/s read). Plug peripherals in every port and test and test. Upgrade the RAM with another 32GB to bring me to a massive 40GB. Test again. Two days of it, copying files and setting it up. Specs -- check. Wifi -- check. Ethernet -- check. Disk -- check. Bluetooth -- check. USB -- check. Download a graphics-intensive Apple Arcade game and play -- check. Surprise. I was misled. I thought this was a used computer. Yet it is flawless and flies like a banshee. Best computer I've ever owned. And I've owned a lot. Yup. Would buy again.

Absolutely fantastic, not always the advertised specs
I have bought 4 of this model online over the past... Covid time. They all have been like brand new and work beautifully. Of them, 2 were i7 processors instead of i5 and hard drive space was never the same among them. Ram varied from 4gb to 16gb. In each case I knew the memory would be barely sufficient and I knew I needed more HD space, so I ordered those as well and had a friend ready to install bigger hard drives. Another non-spec detail is in every case the graphics cards were the same or better than listed. These machines are great, the model/year is solid and the seller has great packaging and speed in shipping. I highly recommend.

Good as brand new
I purchased this renewed iMac hoping for the best and expecting the worst. It arrived beautifully packaged and in new condition. I’ve had it a month now and it is super fast and functions as a brand new computer. My old Mac was 10 years old and had slowed down to the point of not being functional. I wanted another 27” and was sad to learn Apple no longer sales them. This was the perfect replacement.

I like it 3/5
Just came in, was really exciting when I heard the knock at the door. Did not come in original Apple box which is fine - desktop is really big, no scratches, looks brand new. Only complaint is, I thought the desktop would come with an APPLE keyboard and mouse. I got an off brand version, I’m not really happy about that. As I do see other people had received the original apple mouse and keyboard. There was no mention of the off brand keyboard mouse in the description.

Great unit
Love this computer. Great big clear display. There’s only one issue. It won't talk to my Epson printer.

done with windows
What a great price point to make a change. I love my MAC. I have used computers since DOS was the operating system, yes, I'm old. Thought the change would be difficult, well it wasn't. I ran into a small snag, called Apple Support and was up and running in under 3 min. For anyone who is thinking about a change, I use Chrome, MSOffice 365, and a few other programs that I didn't think would cross over, well surprise, surprise. They all work simply fine! I thought I had issues with my internet, so I was directly wired to my modem per comcast suggestion, still didn't get better. I am operating on my Wi-Fi with my MAC and guess what, no problems what so ever. Loads instantly and operates perfectly. It has been two weeks and I am in love!

Apple IMac has always been my computer.
Apple IMac has always been my computer. This is my 4th or 5th. Before this one from 2017 I had a 2011, a 2004 and a 1999. I was pleased to find this one packed in its original box with all the styrofoam intact, so it arrived in clean, undamaged condition from California. It's an upgrade and everything works. After migration, there were some incompatibilities with my data. I used MacKeeper and Zoom diagnostics for tecs to remotely correct these incompatibilities. Everything now works perfectly and faster than ever. Thanks. I may need another in a couple of years.

computer stopped working after return widow sold by platinum deals
It stopped working on 11/1. Who thinks that its ok to spend $600 every 6 months. Not me. I spent 8 hours on the phone with Apple support only to have them confirm that this computer was a piece of garbage. It won't even allow you to do anything with the special commands at start up. It just gives an apple and a status bar that stops halfway. The subsequent 'help' I got from Amazon was nothing but a runaround for about 3 weeks with assurance after assurance they were going to help. NO ONE SHOULD BY ANYTHING ON AMAZON FROM THIRD PART SELLERS. There is zero this company or amazon is willing to do to help. Now I am out $600 and a computer. I guess I'll need to dispute it with my credit card company because this is not right and amazons A-Z policy is nothing. It' does nothing to help. BUYER BEWARE AND GO ELSEWARE. Also, there is no way to get a hold of the seller, try before you purchase something, noone answers and they don't respond to their voice mail This is a legal scam they have going. lesson learned.

Small details but word to say for buyiers, it is in immaculate condition only one small dent in the bottom, the part that did bother Me is that I specifically wanted to buy a 2018 and this is a 2017 not as advertised, no cd room, key board and mouse generic but pretty good I personally don't like mac one's I hope it hepls
