Another great Arc'teryx product
Stunning jacket very light weight .The hood is one of the best around and will keep you fully sheltered from the elements. The 2 chest pockets are not overly large but this is a climbers jacket and built with that in mind

Hoher Preis, beste Leistung

SECOND UPDATE 8/22/16: After my last update, I did, in fact, travel to Savannah, GA with the wife unit. During my stay there, it actually snowed briefly in the morning. Yes, actual snow flakes. Temps stayed below 35 during the day, with steady winds (steady 15mph+, with gusts to nearly twice that). We walked the entire city, from the big park to the waterfront and back. A solid 9.5 hours of walking, not counting meals. So, I worked up quite a sweat. This jacket dispensed with that sweat extremely well. However, even though it breathes very well, you still have to shed layers when you walk inside of somebody's overly-heated business/restaurant. Even light (and frigid) rains bounced off without drama. After three solid days of exploring the city, it was still just as fresh and breathable as when I first donned it. I'm very pleased!!!!! UPDATE 1/20/16: Orlando has had some very cold weather over the past week. I was walking around Disney Springs last night (which fits like a crescent around a small lake). There was a strong and gusty 25+ mph wind from the North West and the humidity was quite high (in the 60+% range) for being about 41 degrees. Windchill was at play and I was wearing only a mid-weight grid fleece half zip pullover (w/ mock turtleneck) as my under layer. Despite working up quite a sweat walking over a mile and a fast pace, I only got mildly sweaty (even though I neglected to use the pit zips, truly putting the fabric to the test). And I sweat...a LOT. As I then sat down outside and began to cool down to eat dinner, I dried out very quickly...virtually as fast as if I were not wearing a shell...but I remained warm as I dried out because I had zero wind getting through. I'm very impressed. Cold wind cools the fabric itself, so having a thicker layer (like grid fleece or down) that raps some warm air next to your skin is important, but no wind gets through. ZERO. During strenuous output, it's actually nice to have the fabric get cooler as it can be refreshing. I'll potentially encounter some snow this weekend as I trip to Southern Georgia and will report back after that. Have had several rain storms and the water beads up and rolls off BETTER than my issued rain gear (with is just pure plastic). You can see (and hear) the droplets literally bounce off the jacket. A swift shake and all water is shed once you get inside. Plenty of room to layer, and it fits over my barrel chest. But most of my other jackets are XL. So this is an athletic fit and is like a half size small. If you lift weights, have broad shoulders, or both, order a size larger than normal (this put me into an XXL). Trust me. **************************************************************************************** Alpha AR arrived today, a balmy, windy, rainy day in central Florida. I arrived home during my lunch break after carrying some heavy things around at work. I was very sweaty and it was very humid outside. The gore-tex pro fabric breathes quite well, despite the high humidity outside. I actually dried out while standing in the rain, whose large droplets bounced off like I had a suit of armor. I'm very pleased. I'm barrel chested (50") and am built like a weight lifter. No other jacket manufacturer has been able to make a jacket that allows me true mobility. This Arc'teryx Alpha AR does, letting me enjoy the shooting sports with a full frontal extension of my arms. The pit zips are generous and the front Vislon zipper is easy to use. I've used and own: the north face, Columbia, marmot, polartec, etc...I can say with confidence that, even though you pay more for Arc'teryx, you GET MORE. I'm very happy and will update once I get more use in inclement weather.

Dont waste your time looking at anything else
Dont waste your time looking at anything else!! everything you would expect from a Arcteryx jacket. I have combined this with the Arcteryx Thorium AR down for the coldest of cold days doing winter 14ers here in Colorado.
