Fantastic value & flavor!
Fantastic product. It's actual bacon fat & works great to add additional flavor/seasoning to your foods. It last such a long time. I gave a 2 lb butter bowl of it to my daughter for seasoning her beans & greens & I've had it nearly 6 months and have only used a little over 1/2 the bucket for my family of 9. It's maintained it's flavor without weird taste variable experienced by other brands. I don't refrigerate it as bucket is too large. It does liquidfy some in the center but I don't mind that. I use a 1/2 cup measuring scoop to dip it out for frying pork chops, potatoes , & eggs as well as for adding as (oil/butter) replacement in my cornbread, biscuits, green beans, great northern or pinto beans, and greens. Wonderful value for big families. I highly recommend!

Seems great
I buy this for my stepmom every few months. She enjoys the quality and how far it goes. Not sure what she uses so much bacon grease for! 😂 From what she tells me, the taste is good, the value could be better but we haven't found anything better. It's a little rough during the summer months, especially in the south. It has leaked a few times that way.

Bacon up
Hard to get excited about bacon grease, but my spouse is from the south and bacon grease from cooking down bacon is always saved for flavoring other dishes and we ran out one time. So I said check on Amazon! Sure enough Bacon Up is exactly what we were looking for and it has exceeded our expectations for cooking. Its purified so it's lily white but delivers bacon flavor just like you just fried up a pound of bacon. So no dirty eggs or burnt bacon bits floating around. Healthwise I'm sure this is a healthier choice for you than margarine or any of the common household or restaurant use seed oils that are all omega 6 based, with lower smoke points. There are bacon flavored/ infused olive oils on the market (Olive Creek makes a good one), but again the higher smoke point of this product makes it ideal for frying and flavoring a batch of green beans and potatoes! So it's good for greens, peas, breakfast, and just about anything that would taste better with bacon! It's a staple in our kitchen as we have reordered it now several times

Real Bacon Grease = Liquid gold!
I'm an enthusiastic home cook. Bacon grease is the secret to so many delicious dishes, it is not the healthiest ingredient but you just need a dab or two for it to add a ton of flavor. But I don't eat much bacon, so I hardly ever had any grease on hand when I wanted to use it. Then I found out about Bacon Up. First I checked the ingredients list; it is 100% bacon grease, nothing added except a bit of tasteless BHA (beta hydroxy acid, a natural compound) to help it stay fresh. The price is good too, for the amount received (imagine how much bacon you would have to fry to get 14 ounces of grease!) So I decided to give it a try. The Bacon Up arrives in a little tub with a plastic lid. Under the lid is a clear film seal to prevent any leaking. You can leave it right in the tub it came in for use (no need to refrigerate and it's better if you don't) but I emptied it into the grease can on my stove to have it handy for cooking. Right out of the tub it looked and smelled just as it should. I even tasted a tiny bit to see if there were any strong flavors, and it tastes just like clean bacon grease should. It's the real thing. Then I started cooking. Since receiving it, I have used the Bacon Up bacon grease to cook eggs, fry potatoes, season green beans, grease a cornbread pan, and to shallow-fry fish filets. It is wonderful! Everything came out with that perfect savory oomph that good bacon grease gives a dish -- there's not a distinct taste of bacon, just a wonderful extra saltiness and umami. And now I don't have to save my bacon grease just for special dishes, or beg bacon-eaters to save me their grease. I'm sold on Bacon Up!

Bacon grease for the lazy cooks out there. Good Stuff Man 👍🏼
It is bacon grease. Good taste and melts down quickly in the pan and in the container unless you refrigerate it. I don’t refrigerate mine but whether liquid grease or solid grease it does what it is supposed to do. Adds flavor and adds a nice nonstick coating to the pan. I also use it for most of my cooking and not just steak or chicken but burgers and hotdogs and even pastas like mac & cheese, Alfredo and even some hamburger helper box meals.

Bacon Up makes country cooking possible
What can be said negatively about bacon grease? Nothing, as far as I know! My dad, 88, grew up in rural Kentucky near where we live still, and bacon grease from frying bacon was a cooking staple in his family kitchen. We don't cook bacon as much anymore, so we usually don't have a stash of it to use but we still like to have the flavor available. Bacon Up is the perfect solution. We get bug-eyes from some people when they realize we get it in 9-lb buckets, but this is the third time we've gotten one. They usually last about a year for us. We keep it out on the counter and it has never turned bad or spoiled. Dad uses it in his cornbread and to grease his cornbread skillet, as well as for flavoring green beans and other things. He once used it to make the biscuit part of a cobbler and I have to say that for me, it was not great. But it made as good a quality biscuit dough, with a good rise, and he at least really like the flavor. So, experiment! The fact that it lasts so long unrefrigerated obviously means that it's been clarified and processed to remove the ingredients that might spoil, so not the same thing as bacon grease from a frying pan, but the flavor is the same. It says it is "triple filtered", and while it is not listed in the ingredients the description says it has a small amount of the antioxidant BHA to preserve freshness. I am not bothered by this but I have seen reviews complaining about it. To me, if you're going to eat bacon grease you aren't a health fanatic anyway. We're definitely not. We don't fry everything in it or use very much at a time, but the flavor can't be replaced with any other. It's essential for country cooking. The bucket the 9 lb version comes in is sturdy itself, with a tight lid and a handle. When we empty one, we repurpose the bucket for something else. The storage capacity is useful and it's great to have good functionality for the packaging as well as the product.

Saves me lots of money
I made a point to order in early March to avoid it sitting in a hot semi or however it's shipped. This way it comes to me as a solid & not a liquid. I don't know this as a fact, but I assume that's why some have a problem with leakage. 3rd time I've ordered this product. Saves me money since I'll fry a pound of bacon just to render the fat. Do I need it in this size, uh no but too expensive if I buy the 14oz size. It's never turned rancid & is very stable since they remove particles. I normally buy the 2.5 gal container, which was out of stock. Doesn't need refrigeration, shelf stable by the way. My local Publix grocery sells 14oz $8.50 Bass Pro Shop is best deal but I needed it next day. I found it funny that the box stated with a big red arrow pointing up, yet Amazon placed it in another box which hid the arrow plus they laid it on its side. I had no problem though.

Speakin' up for Bacon Up!!!
Tasty and worth every penny! When I used to want bacon, grease to cook something.I had to cook half a pound of bacon. Now I just take a tablespoon of bacon up and put it in my pan. It tastes great. It less in the house or on the porch. If it's cold out during the season. I wish they still had the smaller size but it was worth buying the large size!

Bacon up = bacon taste, just a hint of bacon yummm
Bacon up is very versatile, use it for a lot of frying, adds a great flavor but be cautious as it has a low smoke power
