Can you use the diffuser without having the lights on?

Yes you can turn off the color array of lights on the main body, however the "on" lights remain illuminated even with the color display off. There is a red light for constant mist and a green light for intermittent mist. It is quite bright in a dark room (think on your bedside table). It is not just a small illuminated dot but rather a bright dot with corresponding color glow at the bottom. Quite a lot of light next to your bed when trying to sleep. :-( So far, wrapping a dark ribbon around the base at night helps but not an ideal solution. Otherwise I love this diffuser.

I've heard essential oils with citrus in them will break down some diffusers plastic. Will citrus breat this one down?

How many liters is this oil diffuser?? And with all the feedback about it bing bad because it's plastic, if you usually use lavender essential oils and you do clean it properly,is once a week enough?? Third, and last question: does this diffuser lock into place when covered ala less chance of it knocking over & spilling??...

Are the oils optional?

Yes. I do not use essential oils as some are toxic to pets.

What temperature is your water, and what kind of water do you use for this diffusor?

I have found using distilled water helps to keep it cleaner running better.
