Well made
Nice vice, swivels easy fir the most part. You just need to back the t handles out anout 3 turns. To rotate to the pipe jaws is super easy and holds position good. Fir the price and capability it can’t be beat.

Great Vise
Wilton makes vises. This one is designed and built with the DIYer in mind. 2 months after getting it mounted to the workbench, wife asked if I've used it yet. Told her I haven't stopped using it (Use it on a daily basis). It's big, heavy and strong.

Wilton makes the best vices.
This is the third Wilton vice that I bought for the shop. The first two lasted 12 years and I expect this one to last 6 years, or more, too. This vice is used multiple times a day without problems but eventually the handle gets bent, one of the screws that hold the jaws falls out, or the lock that keeps it from rotating won't hold anymore. The only thing that caused a little bit of work to install this was that the old vice was 5 inches. Wilton now only makes a 4 1/2 or 5 1/2 inch replacement and I had to drill two new holes when mounting it. If you need a great heavy duty vice, consider Wilton.

Nice vise, poor shipping. Ok for home use.
Slight damage. No packing inside box. Heavy 50#. Large holes in bottom. Damage Powder coating. Scrapes/deep scratches to Metal. Should've been mounted on wood & strapped down. Was free floating in box. Ridiculous! Called Amazon. VERY nice, understanding. They discounted 30%. I needed item so I didn't want to exchange. Otherwise it's a nice heavy duty vise & should OUTLAST me. My son will enjoy it one day. Wilton should make worm shaft screw better. Threads are course & pinned making shaft weak. Also, rear of screw & nut is open. Should have enclosure cap to keep out debris! For the price it should be closer tolerances too. Happy w/ discount or it would've made a return trip to manufacturer. Wilton should address shipping practices & Q.C. Lastly, believe this is no longer made in USA. Possibly Taiwan. Didn't know this until after it was purchased. Disheartening.

It's a Beast, and the last one I ever hope to buy
My old $150 Harbor Freight vise cracked in half (they do that when you use a cheater bar), so I needed to replace it, and was willing to bust the budget to get one that would last long enough to be part of my estate (ha-ha). I'd read great things about the Wilton brand; it appears they've been making beefy vises for a long, long time. I opted for this multi-purpose style, as it has a rotating jaw assembly, with both flat and pipe/round-stock jaws. My last vise used a similar layout, an it is incredibly versatile. This Wilton was the largest one in that style, and it is an absolute beast @ 53 lbs. Only had it a short while, but it appears to be absolutely fine. I want to replace the swivel hold-down hardware with some socket-head bolts, then use a long T-handle Allen wrench for faster/easier repositioning.

Handy little vise
The number of handy features in this little vise was what sold me on it: - Can hold both round and flat objects - Rotatable head means it is easy to do so (e.g. holding a pipe straight up and down). - Anvil - Scale that shows the thickness of what you are clamping. Note that the mounting pattern is trapezoidal, not rectangular. It comes with a printed pattern to help you drill the holes. See Wilton’s product catalog for a comparison chart of their product line up. It isn’t obvious from the names alone (tradesman, machinist, mechanics, shop, etc...) where things stand. The “multi-purpose” series is about 1/3 of the up way from the bottom. It is being used in a light-duty home garage application, so I wanted something not too heavy, but not bottom-of-the-line quality either.

These vices are rebranded by snap on. For those in the know, you get what you pay for. Enough said!

Decent vise, for the price I expected the castings and the fasteners to be a bit higher end. Good for holding moderate size pieces, jaws are accurate enough for holding small pieces. Not a vise for clamping a piece of steel in and beating it into submission.
