## Overview

Philips LED Non-Dimmable A19 bulbs deliver 1500 lumens of daylight-quality light at 5000K with 87% less energy use than incandescent bulbs. Featuring a standard E26 base, these 14-watt LEDs last up to 10 years, provide flicker-free, eye-comfort lighting, and are mercury-free for eco-conscious homes and offices. Perfect for task lighting and brightening larger spaces with clean, natural light.

## Description

Philips A19 LED light bulbs provide 1500 lumens of cool, full-spectrum light, equivalent to 100-watt incandescent with 80% less energy use. These bulbs fit standard medium base (E26) fixtures with the look and feel of a classic bulb. Not for use with Philips HUE products. At 5000-Kelvin, these bright white bulbs offer bright yet warm lighting with exceptional clarity and high CRI (color rendering index) ideal for project and task lighting and to brighten larger spaces. These high-value Philips LEDs offer durable, shatter-free plastic construction. Philips LEDs turn on instantly with energy-efficient flicker-free, natural light that won't degrade over time. Unlike cheaper imitations, Philips LED offers clean, natural lighting with exceptional clarity. LED light bulbs last up to 10X longer than incandescent and halogen bulbs. Unlike fluorescent and compact fluorescent bulbs, Philips LEDs are mercury-free so they don't contribute to hazardous waste. Each bulb in this pack of 4 A19 Philips LEDs is expected to deliver a lifetime of up to 10,950 hours and over 10 years (based on three hours per day), saving you the cost and hassle of frequent bulb replacement.

Review: Small size / low watts mean you can brighten new places - These 100-watt-equivalent soft-white bulbs are fantastic. First, they look as bright to me as any 100w incandescent I remember (though I don't actually have any of those around anymore to check), and the color is just right for indoor lighting, all warm and cozy-seeming. It doesn't seem yellow to me, it just seems pleasant. I wouldn't hesitate to put these bulbs in any ordinary lamp or fixture that needs a bulb. EVEN BETTER, when I want to bring on the bright, I can use these in places where I used to have to use specialty smaller bulbs, such as a vintage reading lamp that took three max 40w incandescents, or a string of sockets intended for weak little bulbs inside paper lanterns (such as http://www.desertcart.com/gp/product/B00T5EBK2O , which I just used to light up a dim and cavernous bedroom, and which takes a max 60w bulb per socket). I can do this because at just 14.5w, they're far less "hazardous" (that is, hot) than the dimmer incandescents that used to go there, and *also* because they're a little smaller than an old standard light bulb. Compact fluorescent bulbs could theoretically do the same low-watt-replacement thing (and are cheaper than LEDs), but they often frustrate by being just a bit too big to fit where you want to put them -- a 100w-equivalent CF coil is out of the question in every lamp I've tried it in, for instance. (Anybody want a like-new 100w CF coil bulb? Never used, just a little dusty... :) And did you notice the price? If you've been shopping for LED bulbs lately, you'll see that these are a pretty impressive deal (at least, they are today -- I know desertcart prices go up and down all the time, so who knows about tomorrow or next month). They are NOT cheap compared to CFs or incandescents or even halogens, of course, but if what you want is LEDs, these are the best quality and the best price I've found, either online or bricks-and-mortar. I should mention that I get no buzzing sounds from mine, as I have done from some older LED bulbs. Do note that you can't use them with dimmers. To conclude, may I say that I recommend them. Review: Very high quality, LOTS of light, and very energy efficient - LED bulbs have FINALLY made it. I've been waiting for that since playing with red LEDs in the mid 1970s! The Philips are the best I've tried and the price per lumen is among the lowest. A ten pack of 40W equivalent bulbs are cheaper but you usually get what you pay for and I think that's true in this case. These bulbs have a very bright color spectrum. It may be a bit too bluish white for some residential applications, but I'm using these bulbs in my office and I like them. I like a lot of light, and this is that! Philips does offer these bulbs in warmer color spectrum, and they still produce a lot of light. I mark the installation date on the compact fluorescent bulbs that I install and they typically do not get anywhere close to the stated lifespan. I've found that LED bulbs last much longer, and I expect these Philips bulbs to last much longer, although it's far too early to tell. I didn't want to delay this review ten years to see if they lasted as long as I expected. The older I get, the more light I need. The light intensity from these energy efficient LED bulbs is high enough that these would be very good in applications where you want a lot of task lighting but not much heat. I plan on using these for lighting in the shop, on various machine tools like milling machines and lathes, but they'd also be great for sewing, crocheting, quilting, etc.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exaggerated claims that do not match real world use, but it's a good value.
*by I***D on December 31, 2015*

I'm increasing the rating to 5 Stars. Overall, this is a great value and the light output is very reasonable, specially at this price. =========== On paper this bulb promises to generate light output equal to a 100 Watt incandescent bulb (Light output from a 100 watt incandescent bulb is about 1600 Lumens), and this bulb claims to provide 1500 Lumens from mere 14 watts of energy. That is an impressive claim, but it's light output, while brighter than 9 watt or 10 watt led bulbs (equivalent for 60 watt incandescent) its output feels more like a 75 watt incandescent bulb, providing light output of about 1200 lumens. Almost all companies in lighting business seem to exaggerate their product specifications, since it's a victimless crime they get away with it. Overall, it's a good bulb at a reasonable price, while it will provide better light output than 60 watt bulbs, don't expect true 100 watt incandescent performance. It feels more like 75 watts. For example I have a Polaroid brand 30 watt LED bulb and that thing claims to provide 2200 Lumens, but side by side in the same room the Polaroid bulb illuminates at least twice as much. However the cooling fins on that Polaroid bulb is huge and heavy. This bulb provides white light similar in color to bright white quality printer paper or snow ball (about 5000 Kelvin). It maybe good for putting on make up or doing detail work in kitchen but it might feel too sharp for late night relaxing in a living room. You might prefer a warmer color (lower color temperature around 2500K) for late night relaxing situations.
