What i like - Size - power - charge port on battery - build quality - clip - price - light mode changes - tailcap choice. Some ppl complain about the tail cap light - no option to turn it off. Well try twisting the tail slightly. I have purchased several of these some i use the lighted tail cap with pushbutton, some i use the magnet. For the lighted tail cap i keep this by my night stand and i twist it off when done. That being said it will last a month lit 24\7. The thing about us ocd light freaks are we all have different opinions on exactly how it should work. For me this really has it all. I have purchased too many of these already and writing this makes me want to buy another. I was in the attic with one and no lights up there so after a bit of fumbling trying to get the light to shine where I needed... I just put a screw above my head into a rafter and stuck my light above my head. Perfect and easy - nice for working on cars as well. Only thing I would change is put a clip on it that is bi-directional like another lumintop i have, one for baseball cap or pocket but its reversible already, so it will do either as long as you reverse it. No way would I take off a star for that. I haven't had one break yet but they seem solid so if its still going in 5 years then ill comment on that. I didn't initially see any value in the charge port, that is before i purchased and used it, but now after realizing i have micro usb chargers everywhere it sure makes them easy to charge wherever i am. Work - on a trip wherever i can charge this. Its a dated port but i have so many its fine. Would like to see a usb C battery at some point but again no way will I take off a star.

I’ll just put areas I think people should know before buying. My use-case is night time new born duties and night time chores. Add-ons: The light is great, but the addons are iffy because when am I going to keep that soft top? And where? I’m having a hard time figuring out what to do with the magnet cap in the same respect: when will I need it and where do I store it? The box is whimsical, and likely will be trashed or lost in some drawer. They’re nice but I question the practicality. It would be nice if the magnet cap can screw on for storage in addition to the button top. Strobe: That said, functionally the only issue I have is getting it to run in strobe mode. I doubt I’ll need it, but it’s a bit tricky to get it to turn on. It works when I can get it to work. Best way of getting to go is to screw off the top or bottom areas a few times to activate? Sometimes I cycle through a few times. The memory on the mode is nice? Unsure. I find myself cycling through the modes. Clip: I dislike the pocket clip since I wish it was a two-way clip, and tried searching for something with deep pocket carry functionality. You really can’t find a clip separate a flashlight that is skinny. It sits proud in its regular areas. I realized that the tail cap can be clipped… so alas, deep pocket carry enabled. See my picture. I would like to be able to clip it onto the brim of my hat, but holding it in my mouth is just fine. I may look for a different clip in the future. Battery: I’m always iffy on batteries and may amend this later on to get a better review placed. Time will tell since it really depends on how many charges I can get out of it. Fresh from the box, it ran nearly a week with light use. Once drained, it’s going to be in a low setting and start dimming further. This is the first charge, and so far the battery has not heated up. Good sign? It’s construction is much better than most wraps, and has a USB-C port. I have not tested this out because I don’t want to overcharge the battery. The charger I have will tell me when it’s full. 3/5 is just average but that doesn’t mean it’s bad nor am I saying it’s good. It works. Seems decent. Size: A bit small for large hands. The perfect length would be an 18650 size or a Kershaw skyline folded knife length. The button too helps make it a bit longer, but I might try and mod this to be a little longer. Construction: 4/5. The cap end has a spring. The electronics end does not. My cheaper coast pen light has springs on both sides. I may mod it with a small spring. I am pretty sure I will be abusing this light, and don’t want it to press against the electronics end. Everything else is nice. I may lube the threads a bit since I dislike the metal on metal scraping noise when I screw it. It comes with extra o-rings, which I guess is useful but not needed. It’s less than $1 at a hardware store. Glow: The flow in the dark top ring is a joke, and many glow in the dark stuff is for the most part. It requires very expensive materials like in high-end dive watches to pull off a long lasting glow. However the button blue light is a savior. Very nice feature!

I've heard quite a few good things about the Tool AAA from Lumintop. This Tool AA is just as good if not better, than it's AAA counterpart! The quality is fantastic! The threads are smooth, the anodizing is clean and quite well done, and the machine work is excellent! This light puts out respectable light off of a 1.5v Alkaline battery. It's shines just as well with a Eneloop Pro battery. When you install a Li-Ion 3.7v 14500, it's on steroids! It gets fantastically brighter with this kind of battery. What's even better is you can use protected 14500 batteries in this light! Fantastic! It features a clicky tail cap AND a optional magnetic tail cap! The "clicky" cap is fantastic. It produces a satisfying "click" when pressed. It feels like a good quality switch. The Magnetic tail cap, when used, will make the light shorter, and have the ability to stick to metal surfaces! When you use the magnetic tail cap, you will turn the light into a "head twist" activated light. To change modes you rapidly twist the head counter clockwise, then clockwise to make contact. To turn the light off, simply turn the head counter clockwise. This is a simple, yet practical little light. It's very small and would fit nicely in a pocket. The clip is OK. It isn't too stiff but acceptable. In the package you'll get two spare O-rings, 1 lanyard, 1 glow cap for defusing light, 1 OEM Duracell battery pre-installed and the optional magnetic tail cap. The package comes in a neat little plastic case with a magnetic clasp. You get all of this for such a great price! I can confidently recommend this product!

This is a very nice little light, and a pretty good bargain. The case is very durable and the fit and finish is excellent. They also give you some nice options. You get two different butt caps; one gives you a push button switch, and the other gives the light a magnetic base so it can stick to the hood of a car or something. With the magnetic butt cap the light is operated by twisting the head, like most AAA keychain lights. One can also use the twist option with the push-button cap installed. The light also comes with a high-quality removable pocket clip, and a really nice lanyard. I like the fact that it cycles brightness from low to high, most lights go high-to-low. Overall, this is a great bargain. As for performance, the light output is actually pretty mediocre with a AA battery (the light comes with a Duracell installed). I don't know if others have the same problem, but on mine the medium mode doesn't work; it flickers for a couple seconds then switches to high. However, what really makes this light shine (pun intended) is using a 14500 Li rechargeable battery. With the lithium battery, the ligh8t output is MUCH higher (it seems to be about double, to me). Also, mine works just fine with all 3 modes when using a 14500. The bright setting is blinding, and even the low output is adequate for most nighttime tasks, providing plenty of light to find something you dropped on the ground for example. Since I bought this light specifically to use with Lithium rechargeables, I'm not going to worry about the flickering with the AA. I recommend EBL 800mAh batteries, you can get an 8-pack for just $17.

This is pretty much a larger version of the Lumintop Tool AAA. The brightness levels are very similar when using an alkaline battery. The brightness levels for the AAA version are: 32 lumens (4 Hours) 5 lumens (60 Hours) 110 lumens (30 Minutes) I have provided a table with this versions (AA) lumen output and duration.The AA version (the one I am reviewing) has almost exactly the same brightness levels as the AAA version when using alkaline batteries. Using the 14500 really allows the AA version to produce the stated lumens, which in my experience seems right on spec. This small light puts out a very bright beam The flashlight becomes hot to very hot when using at highest (500+ lumens). As it heats up, your grip on the light will move back toward the tail cap. There is no step-down designed into this flashlight. It will dim as the battery runs low. I like this more than the "feature" built into some higher end lights that run the light as long as possible then just go out. The flashlight comes with a flat tail cap which is magnetic, lanyard, and a soft rubber or silicone light diffuser. The diffuser simply slips on and works well as a table/tent lantern. The beam is floody type with a very good hot spot and even dispersion of light in the spill area. The beam cannot be adjusted but that is not an issue with this flashlight. The design of the beam is perfect for its purpose. The magnetic tail cap means the light changes to a twisty on/off/level changer. Shortens the length of the light by about 1/2". This makes it nice to use as a work light. Attach to the hood, engine block, heating duct, etc., and begin your work. The three brightness levels are all at useful levels. Lowest setting is good for middle of the night use. Middle setting is good for most uses and turbo/highest setting is good for more distance and when more detail is needed. It uses a cool white beam which I do not mind or this flashlights intended uses. There is no memory on this light. This is usually not an issue for non-tactical use. The standard tail cap is clicky-type. You can use half presses to switch to the various modes,or, turn it on and off to switch levels. I also have the AAA version which I use with a 10440 battery. The 10440 is NOT supported by Lumintop and will void the warranty. My AAA version no longer works with other types of batteries. I knew this going in but I wanted a small very bright light to use for short periods of time. In return, get the desired HIGH output from the AAA version. The main benefit to the AA version is longer run times at all levels using alkaline, NI-MH, 14500 batteries. This flexibility makes this light a real bargain. I have dealt wit their Customer Service for follow up support (about accessories, not about problems with their lights) and they have been very responsive. They even sent me a magnetic tail cap FREE for a Lumintop Tool AAA model which does not come standard with a magnetic tail cap. I mistakenly bought it instead of the version which comes with the magnetic tail cap. The built, durability, and quality of beam makes this flashlight a must have. For the price of $21 for the black version and $23 for red, purple, and blue versions (11-24-2017 price), I am buying more for around the house and as Christmas gifts.

I got the full kit version, that came with the 920mAh USB rechargeable battery, click tail cap, magnetic twist tail cap, lanyard, diffuser, and 2 o-rings. This is a fantastic light, incredibly small and lightweight, but strong build. This will replace my standard carry of a 1200lm BLF A6. With the click cap, it's just over 3.5" and with the magnetic twist cap it's just a smidge past 3"! Incredibly bright for the size. My biggest fear is I'll forget I have it on me and send it through the wash. Bound to happen. The beam is a good spread and a crisp white. As some have said on here, turbo mode it gets pretty hot, pretty quick. Honestly, that's to be expected, especially at this size form factor. The click tail cap illuminates a very light blue. This bugs some, but a simple small twist of the cap undoes that if it bothers you, or if you're storing and don't want to burn down the battery. Excellent other features: - Memory mode for last brightness... this is huge for me. Drives me nuts when the default brightness is the lowest setting and I have to click through to get to the highest. Generally, I am wanting to illuminate something right away, and would rather click down if I'm using the light for a longer time. - Head twist to adjust brightness! With either tail you can also twist the head back and forth to adjust brightness. This is a great feature not seen on many lights. - Strobe is not part of the standard rotation, which I like. I want to purposefully activate strobe, in the incredibly rare chance I need it, not have it part of the mode rotation. And it's not hard to activate, 6 rapid clicks of the tail cap or twists of either the tail or head will activate it. The only thing I would like to see, and not worth a star removal by any stretch, is a two-way pocket clip, so it could mount on to a hat, etc. But, that would add a bit of size to the light. Overall, I'm extremely happy and have no plans to replace my new EDC anytime soon.

After testing many small flashlights including nitecore, roxyvon, olight, fenix, streamlight, sofrin etc. I've settled on this one as the best. Durable and waterproof- dropped it and threw it in the pool for an hour. Actually does 650 lumens with Rechargeable Battery- I've tried out other 650 and 700 Lumen flashlights that weren't as bright. Nice spread of settings- 4 brightness levels and it remembers the last. Very cool lighted endcap and decent clip. The price is amazing for the quality and accessories included- includes a diffuser, which is really handy. Also turbo will last longer than any of my other lights which step down in minutes. This maintains brightness. Cons You have to remove Battery to charge it, not really a con for me as I have rechargeables ready to go so I just switch. No power level meter or gage. Other than dimming or intermittent beam. I summery, it's tiny and extremely bright and well built and uses readily available cells. I reach for it more than any other flashlights I have, even though I have more $$ and more powerful lights. The more powerful lights I have step down to lower Lumen levels after a couple of minutes so this ends up being brighter in the end.

I bought this light to replace my "expensive" small EDC light that I had been carrying, because I've been out in the field a lot more lately and use my light all day, and was afraid I'd leave it somewhere. So when I saw this come up on a George Defined video, I checked it out, and so glad I did. The light is cheap enough that I wouldn't be crying if I lost it, and it is awesome bang for the buck, a real value. Good workmanship, a pocket clip, rechargeable battery with built-in USB C charge port. A clicky on-off, and tap to change between 4 lighting levels. The package also comes with a slip-on diffuser and lanyard. I LOVE the illuminated tailcap button. Once I put this into service, I bought a few more- a spare, and a couple to give as gifts. My only gripe would be, I wish the lowest lighting level was dimmer, something closer to a firefly/moonlight mode. But this an excellent all around EDC light, small and light. I highly recommend you grab a few!

...because to my surprise the flashlight came (contrary to the description) with a Lumintop branded 920mah 14500 rechargeable 3.7 volt Li-Ion battery. I really didn't expected this, and along with the magnetic tailcap (the reason I bought that specific model) the light makes an outstanding value. The Lumintop AA is NOT a spotlight but a nice, little flodder make it a good choice for close quarter work and for illuminating (sufficiently) things up to 20-25 meters away. The tailcap comes in handy when the light can be attached - on a motorhood for instance. The four (five with strobe) modes could have been better seperated, the low could be lower and the step between high and turbo is not too great. I don't see any use for the strobe mode in such a light but it is rather cumbersome to activate anyway, entirely negligible. But the truly small size (especially with magnetic tail), low weight and the nice - glow in the dark - rubber diffusor make it all up. Overall this is a fantastic little flashlight - bright enough to do all kind of tasks up to 10-25 meters, small and light enough to totally disappear in a pockent and cheap enough not to care too much if it ever breaks (unlikely) or get lost. The clip sits firm and tight but like I do with all my flashlights I secured it with a wrap of duct tape. The middle part of the flashlight can go in either direction so one can always decide to carry head up or down and of course the light can tail stand. The Lumintop Tool AA runs on ALL batteries I tried, including a bigger (longer) Nitecore 14500 rechargeable, a cheap no-name Alkaline batt, an Eneloop AA and a primary lithium AA Energizer batt. Given that and the price there are only two words to add to this review: highly recommended. Agent Shrader out

Mein Mann wollte mal wieder ein paar neue Taschenlampen. Ich also die Artikel gem. erhaltenem Link bestellt und dann kam das Päckchen. Zunächst erstmal nichts Ungewöhnliches. Dann packe ich es aus und habe zwei Mini-Schächtelchen in den Händen. Nach der Reaktion meines Mannes, jedoch genau das, was er haben wollte. Diese hier ist wirklich recht klein, die Leuchtkraft geht aber 100 % in Ordnung. Klein, handlich, paßt ohne aufzutragen in die Jackentasche. Ordentlich verarbeitet, gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis, bekommt es von meinem Mann, vier Sterne und eine Kaufempfehlung.

Eine perfekte Lampe, klein, handlich und unglaublich hell, wurde mit Akku geliefert, kann aber mit normalen AA-Batterien betrieben werden, was bedeutend sinnvoller ist, als nur Akku - eine Steckdose ist nicht immer unterwegs verfügbar, eine AA-Batterie gibt es an jeder Ecke und eine Reservebatterie einzustecken ist kein Teufelswerk. Top-Produkt, ist den (durchaus respektablen) Preis wert.

Ich trage die Lampe täglich bei mir, sie ist sehr robust und verdaut auch Stürze aus 1 - 2 Metern schad- und kratzerlos ( aus größerer Höhe ist sie mir noch nicht heruntergefallen ). Einhändig kann man schnell die verschiedenen Helligkeitsstufen wählen und die sind überzeugend. Auf kleinster Stufe reicht es locker, um zu lesen oder seinen Weg im Dunkeln zufinden. Bei den stärkeren Stufen glaubt man fast gar nicht, daß dies von einer so kleinen Lampe kommt, die für diesen Preis sehr günstig ist. Ich finde die blaue Leuchtfunktion am Einschaltknopf gut, denn man findet die Lampe dann auch schnell im Dunkeln. Wer befürchtet, daß dadruch der Akku zu schnell alle wird, der kann ja diese Funktion durch die drehbare Front ausschalten. Ich habe sie Bekannten / Kolegen weiter empfohlen; die die sie gekauft haben, waren zufrieden, genau wie ich.

Passt wunderbar in die Hosentasche und ist für die Größe sehr hell.
