So Alesis Pro X Hi Hat works with Alesis Trigger I/O.I use it with Addictive Drums 2 and it sounds amazing. ### ⭐⭐⭐ The noisiest trigger in my kit! *by M***N on May 18, 2017* If you have a DM8 or DM10 with a terribly inaccurate hi-hat pedal, try upgrading your firmware first, because this trigger will NOT solve your problem.I've had a DM8 kit for 3 years - expanded to it's non-I/O limit - and this Pro X Hi-Hat is by far the noisiest trigger I have. It's as if the main complaint many have regarding the Alesis triggers and surface noise has been ignored. You'll likely find that turning up the level for the hi-hat will not drown it out. It really is that loud, and extraordinarily distracting. The original 12" hi-hat and pedal are FAR quieter than this rig, without question.The four disparate high hat sounds as described are iffy, as well. The bottom half of the trigger does not sit level with the top half - regardless of the stand you are using - so they interact inconsistently, and you may get a different sound than you expect.PROS- Looks cool in the kit- Easy to set up and tweak- Pedal and trigger action is more acoustic-set realisticCONS- Noisy, noisy, noisy- No more accurate than the single 12" hat and pedal controllerIf you've maxed out your kit as I have, and wanted to begin the leap to a hybrid kit, starting with this is not a worthwhile use of your money. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Read before buying *by T***C on March 31, 2017* Pros, it functions just like a hihat andIf you mod it the hihat works great. Also costs way less than Yamaha hihat.Cons, rubber pad makes knocking noise unlike my other cymbals not noticeable if you had the volume up or wearing drum headphones, spring gave too much resistance and I had to cut it in half so my son could close the hihat to trigger close.I wear drum headphones and after cutting the spring I decided to keep it because the hihat works good now, it's better than my old alesis hihat and more fun.
