When a Serial Killer is active in a community it is extremely scary for everyone. This book focuses on Serial Killers who have been captured and some of the most notorious and ruthless killers in history. Serial killers stay close to home and their victims are random. Dennis Rader found all his victims in Kansas not far from the Wichita home he shared with his wife and two kids. Rader, the president of his local church, knocked on his victim's doors and they simply let him in. John Wayne Gacy, met many of his 33 victims, all young men and boys, at charity events where he appeared dressed a clown. After luring them to his house and murdering them he stuffed them under his Cook County, Illinois home. Gary Leon Ridgway, the Green River Killer, was convicted of strangling 49 random women he met in Washington. He confessed to killing 71 but authorities believe the number of victims could be over 90. Jeffrey Dahmer of Milwaukee admitted to killing and cannibalizing 17 young men and boys before he was arrested. Case Closed is a compilation of criminal file dossiers on several of those Serial Killers that were captured, including:Ted BundyJohn Wayne Gacy - The Killer ClownJeffrey DahmerDonald Henry GaskinsGary Ridgway - The Green River KillerDennis Rader - The BTK KillerDavid Berkowitz - The Son of SamOttis Toole and Henry Lee Lucas - The Homosexual Crime TeamAnd Many More."Here's a chilling and engrossing collection of killers, presented with the no nonsense seriousness of Jack Webb in DRAGNET. Perfect for a True Grue Crime fix!"~ David F. Bischoff (TV Writer and NY Bestselling Author of 82 books including Phantom of the Opera and Star Wars) Review: Wow - This was an awesome book about serial killers and great details. These stories are short but very juicy information. The story that I will remember from this book the most is MaryBeth Tinning. Killing kids like they are animals is ruthless. No one serial killer in this book deserved life without parole, they all deserved the death penalty. The case in Canada that was in this book was also very touching and I felt so sad for those young girls. Great book and a must read. Review: Interesting true facts that I didn't know about until now - The spelling could have been a little better. These true life stories are scary, haunting, and interesting facts that I didn't know about until now.

Famous Serial Killers
There were fourteen serial killers with three killing pairs featured in this book. These murderers were quite vicious and depraved monsters. Most are well known. But a few weren't. Therefore it was interesting reading about them though I felt so bad for their victims. I'm very happy these killers Cases are Closed. Yet justice wasn't always served such as in the case of Karla Homolka (co-killer with her husband, Paul Bernardo). I don't even like to read about that case. As long as you realize most of the cases presented have been described many other places, you will probably enjoy this book on serial killers cases that were actually solved. Since I don't like unsolved criminal cases, especially when there are multiple victims or even a little single innocent victim that was killed, I appreciate that these murderers were captured.

A gruesome account of closed cases
I bought this book a few days ago. I don't normally go for this kind of book but many of the murderers caught in this I had heard about in the news and had wondered how much of it came about. what RJ has done by compiling these cases is shown that even those with a sick and twisted mind can and do get caught. Sometimes it can take years but the police and investigators never stop looking and probing. RJ has done a wonderful job of research and putting together the case files with the information. Thank you for an informative read! Highly recommend it to others!

A pity you can't rate it 0 stars
Despite the negative reviews, I thought I'd give this one a go while it was free. They're right. It's dreadfully written, with grammar errors, typos, mixed tenses and persons, and plenty of the author's own biased comments in it. Some examples: 1) "As he was such a good boy, the dirt bag only served 18 months of his 10-year prison sentence" (Yes, it does say "dirt bag") 2) "...had the justice system kept the SOB in prison where he belonged." (SOB is used several times in the book) 3) "When the police done a background check on Gacy" 4) "he was allowed a picnic on the prison grounds with his family. I am wondering if he had cheese and wine with that." 5) "Piest...told his mother that some contractor wants to talk to me about a job, and left the store to talk with the contractor" 6) "In a lot of peoples' minds, [yes, that's where the apostrophe is in the book] Carol is one hell of a lucky brave girl and I tip my hat to her." (Carol survived an attack by Ted Bundy.) 7) "That night two other female students were attempted to be abducted" 8) "Author's Note: does this make sense to anyone; why not just give him 10 million years? It's ridiculous to me." Not worth spending the kindle's battery power to read it! (which is the electronic version of "not worth the paper it's written on" :-) )

Clear and concise but extremely confronting for sensitive people.
Written in a clear and concise style by RJ Parker Phd, this book is not for the faint hearted as the author writes graphically of the evil deeds perpetrated by these deeply disturbed individuals. The extent of their depravity is surely an indictment of our human world as all killers had traumatic childhoods which grew into full blown psychosis as adults. At issue is human behaviour and this condition needs urgent attention to prevent a world of terminal psychosis.

Case Closed(Serial Killers Captured)
This is a very informative book, but is to the point. If you are a true crime buff or interested in serial killers, you should read this book. The way the author breaks up the different areas from their childhood to the crimes to arrest and conviction. I did learn something that I didn't know before reading this book. True crime must read.

gruesome, repetitive narrative
This book is a narrative of serial murders presented in an unimaginative repetitive manner. Rather than drawing the reader in to the story, facts are often repeated to a tiresome degree making the reader wish that the writer would push on to something new. A tiresome read!

Great book Mr. Parker!
It' my first book I was reading from you. Incredible what humans can do to their fellows. Deep respect for the detectives, who has to chase these sick minds.

Just like your sat next to the author
The same straight fact style I enjoy RJ Parkers books for, this time with a little more of the authors comments through out the book as though you were sat next to him with him recounting the tales to you. Would be an excellent talking book (perhaps it is). We are treated to back ground of the case, killers involved without pages of wasted woffle to stride through with the satisfaction the cases are closed. Another fast paced read, I thoroughly recommend.

A Good Read
I really enjoyed reading the book. Liked the way each story was set out and although these are known cases I did actually learn some new things about them. A good read and thanks to the author.

Interesting cases but poorly written
I knew of some of these killers and not others and found reading about them interesting. I liked the way the book was set out and the way each case was broken down into sections such as "background" and "murders" etc. However, the book was let down by the author's writing style. It appears to be written objectively and factually but it is full of author's opinion and phrases more suited to conversation. I have read crime books where the author gives their opinion for a very good reason (such as because they were a professional working the case or because they have a background in forensic psychology) and then it adds to the narrative and your understanding of what happened. However, in this book it's just annoying and a bit like you're hearing about it from a bloke in the pub. Overall, a well laid out book about some fascinatingly gruesome crimes but poorly written.
