I followed all instructions and am getting no sound. i'm using w/ an iphone 8x and adapter. am i missing something, or did i get a broken product?

Ok, if it's not picking up sound, here is what you need to do. Step 1 - shut off your receiver, that'll be the small piece. Step 2 - shut off your transmitter. Step 3 - turn on your transmitter and hold down the power button and the left and right channel / volume buttons all at the same time, the face of the transmitter will flash. Step 4 - turn on your receiver and hold down the power button until its flashing. Step 5 - once the receiver has stopped flashing it's connected. Step 6 - press the power button on the transmitter briefly, not to shut it off, but to get the transmitter to stop flashing. Step 7 - plug in your receiver to the MIC input in whatever you're using it for. Step 8 - make sure your microphone is tightly seated into the transmitter and screw the attachment on so it's tight, but not overly so, don't jam it. Now the two are properly synced together and you should have no problem using it.

Yes it would, each transmitter is paired with it's own receiver. You would need 5 sets, and the mixer/Amp you will be plugging into will need to have an input for each one of the 5 receivers.
