Facebook’s Portal is weird, like really weird but in its own way it makes perfect sense and is perfect for communicating with Boomers or maybe those who aren’t into shopping around the App Store. :-) The call quality is fantastic. The machines ability to pan, scan and zoom makes it remarkable for its primary purpose. The addition of some Alexa features is welcomed but average at best. Privacy functionality is on point with physical buttons to turn off camera and microphone. Display is fantastic. Very user friendly and a great way to catch up with friends and family, especially if you’re with a group of people.

The Facebook Portal is an amazing device that allows you to make video calls with ease. The 10” touch screen display is bright and clear, and the built-in Alexa makes it easy to keep in touch with your loved ones. Pros: simple to set up and audio/video quality is amazing. Camera motion is really smooth and reliable and overall a great device that is optimized for video chat. Nails the call grandparents scenario for my kids. Cons: has to be plugged in. There's no battery. This is annoying. It's 2020 put a battery in it. You'd think this is obvious but it makes the device super lame that it has to be plugged in. UX can be clunky at times. We all naturally have a lot of Facebook friends but I don't want my son to accidentally dial a friend I haven't talked to in 10 years. The angle of the stand is a little off. When on a table it seems to point the camera towards ceiling more than we would prefer. So you end up being in the bottom half of the frame not the whole thing.

For all the elderly or just people who don't want to learn facebook, you just have to sign into a new account once and leave a message she can only be reached by messenger. No Facebook Hassel! It has been a godsend since Covid19. Especially because my moms on oxygen. This is a fantastic product it came just in time to be able to visit with my mother after a year during covid. I got this for her for Christmas and boy was it a hit! Until yesterday the camera completely stopped working. I'll give this a 100 and do a commercial for free that's how wonderful it was. Got it for my parents in another country. All they need it wifi and their whattsapp so simple! Love it when I call them they aren't always sitting and talking. So the camera moving to their faces is such a cool feature and convenient. You can also play music and watch things on it. Love how you can also read a book to them. OH you can also have many family members talk together too! I got all my parents and their children to talk together regardless of where they are at!

UPDATE 2: Most of what little functionality remains will be removed come April 4, 2025. Tive que devolver porque a propaganda do produto não estava coerente com o produto. Na propaganda não consta que o produto não faz mais chamadas desde 2014. A Amazon reembolsou.

This is a beautiful unit.. however very little apps are supported. Didn't integrate with Google.. does integrate with Alexa which was fine.. but it was just voice integrated. Returned it.
