It works
When I first received the Translator, I could not use it. I read a few reviews some days later and I tried again. This time, the translation is is about as good as Google. The device is small and light and very easy to use. I don't know how long the battery lasts but seems good. Because my pronunciation is not good, my son says the translator must not response. He is kidding me. But I am lucky, the device works. I am happy.

2 exact same failures
I have been on a quest to find a great translator. I tell you now if you are on the same quest it is a very difficult journey. The Birgus Voice Translator had my hopes up. It was a cheaper unit then some of others that I tried but the reviews were not to bad. I also tried more expensive Birgus units which failed in one way or another. This one worked very good at first. After about 1 month it suddenly stopped working and if you pressed the button to input your voice it would say "No Network". I tried everything from different networks to factory reset. Apparently it is something to do with the MAC address of the device and the company's registration. The company has extremely bad support and it is almost a useless effort to contact them. It really is a shame because this was one of the better translators that I tried. The first Birgus Translator Amazon replaced for me because Birgus would not fix it. The second one failed again after about 3 - 5 weeks with the same problem. Apparently this is a common problem from reading the reviews. I advise you to look for a translator from a different manufacturer. Now this is my 8th try to find a good translator. I spent between $80 to $300 on each translator. It is not easy. It should not be that difficult. Any smartphone can use Google Translate which is what I always used and works great but I wanted a separate dedicated device. Now I am trying another brand and so far it is very good. I think my long quest is finally ending. I hope I can save you some headaches and money by avoiding this company. Good Luck. ))))

Two Stars is Generous.
First of all this does appear to "work" -- at least in languages it supports. That's why I gave it two stars. It claims to support 70 languages and perhaps it does (many are variations of English, and the languages are difficult to scroll through because they A: are not in alphabetical order (!) and B: tend to "select:" with even the slightest variation in pressure so that you end up selecting a language when you're just trying to scroll down). It does not seem to support Mandarin Chinese, even though the seller "confirmed" that it does and this is specifically what i needed it for for my next trip. If so it's not listed as an option. Signing into wifi is ridiculously tedious, almost laughable. The process involves a version of that old fashioned number = letter function that we used to use to send text messages. But it's worse than that. If you click on the eye icon to make sure you're typing the correct password, it closed the window and refreshes, forcing you to start all over again. The biggest problem with this unit, is that it will not work in any sort of 2-step wifi-login situation. Like at an airport, in a hotel or restaurant, on a plane or train, in a public place that requires you to log in. In other words, just about any place a traveler would need something like this. If you're at HOME on your own wifi, or are planning to carry a wifi hotspot with you, there shouldn't be a problem. But since this unit is specifically geared for world travelers, that doesn't make sense. (There's also no option to add a foreign sim card, which might have resolved that problem). I really wanted to love this unit. It does have some nice advantages. It is sleek and fits well in your hand, and does seem to work as far as providing fairly instantaneous translations. But for what i need it for and what I assume most people would need it for, it totally misses the mark. UPDATE: 5 days into my trip to China, the unit stopped charging. I noticed the supplied power cord was pretty wobbly when I tried to insert it into the port. It just wouldn't "grab." I tried several other charging cords, which all did the same thing. On closer inspection, it looks like a piece of the connector inside the charging port is either loose or missing. I won't be able to return the unit when get home (5 months from now) because by that time it will have been well past Amazon's return window. This was an expensive piece of equipment that was made cheaply and could have been so much better. At this point I'm pretty much stuck with a non-functioning language translator that wasn't nearly as good as it should have been in the first place. I got 5 days' use out this and am now forced to see if i can locate another (better) one on foreign soil.

The translator is 93% correct all the time.
Translates very fast you can hold it up to the phone and the person on other end speak and it will translate fast what that person said.

Didn't work
Couldn't get it to work. It showed connected to the network, but did not do anything. Touch screen is very laggy, unresponsive to touch and shut down and reboot itself once when it froze. Could not get the translator to work. The menu is written very poorly in bad grammar and english, sentences did not make sense. It said there was software included, but when I checked the drive there was nothing included.
