The zoom lens is handy for swapping to a spotlight to pierce the darkness at greater distance and see whats going on, also the built in belt clip works well.The thing that really impressed me was the hardly mentioned paracord bracelet that comes with it. The fastening clip on the bracelet has a compass, whistle, small emergency knife and a fire steel all in the clip.
