I live and work in a cold, old farmhouse and indulge myself in shawls to stay warm. Although the price seemed outrageously low for a wool shawl, I liked the description of this one and gave it a try. PROS- it is large and warm and the workmanship of the ground weaving (a nice birdseye twill, fyi) is excellent. The selvedges on the inset weaving are good, not great. CONS- It is DEFINITELY NOT WOOL. I did a fiber flame test to confirm this.If this had been advertised and priced as an acrylic/synthetic fiber, I would give it 4 stars, maybe 5, but this is clearly false advertising. Shame on you, Om Shanti Crafts!On the plus side, this means the shawl is machine washable and can be thrown in the drier on low or medium heat. Don't dry on high. Yes, I did this and it only improved the texture/hand. They even claim to have a lab report to verify that...but it’s cotton!The cloth is simply cotton, no warmth of wool because it’s cotton.They sell it for 2 or 3 times more money claiming it’s warm wool but it’s cotton.It’s decently made but I don’t like being lied to. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great warm, handsome shawl for under $40 *by J***Y on Reviewed in the United States on December 20, 2019* Great wrap. Nice weight (medium-light). Warm, but not too. Nice warm colors. Long and wide enough for a wide body guy like me - 6’, 250. I bought it because I couldn’t wear a coat or jacket with sleeves, thanks to a brace/sling I had to wear for 8 weeks after shoulder surgery. Worked great in and out of the car, short walks, etc. Still wear it, even without the brace. Great sitting up late reading in a chilly house, too. Only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is the shawl material could be softer.
