FreshTech Vent Mount w/Bonus New Car Smell Scent

I now use a on the top of dashboard full angle adjustable hodler and ues this one for cooling down the phone from time to time only. Pros Holds the phone on the air vent so the phone will not overheated. The air refresh disc is a plus. Cons, Very hard to use by one hand. it is for naked phone only. I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 phone with a thin protcting shell on it. sometimes the phone will pop out of the holder becuse the tow arms that hold the phone are too shallow. Not stable ! It is wobbinling when try to use the touch screen because the base on the back is very small. It added the chance that the phone pop out the holder. Will only stay parallel to the air vent and rotate 360. i was unable to adjust up or down, left to right. So it is very hard to see while driving. I guess it depends on what kind of car that you have. You might have a better angle. I have a Toyota Avalon.

I just used this device on a state-wide tour of Florida. The mount is a nice touch and I could easily mount my phone and use the phone GPS without having to look down or take my eyes of the road. However, the scent ring left a lot to be desired. I used it with blower in the Florida heat but no scent at all. The Febreeze car vent clips are way better in that regards. I might try the replacement disks if and when they are available on Amazon and update my review accordingly if they are better.

I had high hopes for this product. 1) i needed a new air freshener and 2) i had been searching for a vent mount for my GS6 as i no longer wanted a windshield mount. i will start with the mounting on vents. the closer your vent fins are spaced together, the better it will hold. thickness of the vents does not make a huge difference as they are made of some sort of moldable polymer? and taper up in thickness as you are pushing it farther in. i think my BMW e90 vent fins might be too far apart as i have to jam it all the way in for it to secure. and i can not attach my phone with one hand as it will start to slip out of the vent. it is able to rotate freely 360 degrees but it does not seem to lock into a perfect vertical position. not a big deal just looks weird when i rotate my phone to portrait mode. And now to the air freshener portion. the new car smell scent disk that was included with the vent mount (i also purchased fresh mint and black magic, assuming it was similar to Black Ice) smells more like a female body spray.. and smells when you first start driving or if like me (in a BMW) you turn on the A/C for about 15 seconds. and this is the only time you will be smelling your air freshener. it does NOT permeate into the rest of the car nor does it maintain an intense fragnance throughout the car. very weak and very disappointing. all in all, this is good for nothing more than a phone vent mount. Update: ONE WEEK LATER AND THE EXTENDING SIDE GRIP HAS ALREADY BROKEN OFF!!! what a piece of garbage!

not big enough to hold onto the iPhone 5 with a case. It holds it for like five seconds and then BING it springs back into place sending your phone somewhere into the floor of the car. At least I had blue tooth and could still be getting directions but now I can't see the screen and I have to wait for a red light to check the floor boards

I purchased this back when I had an Iphone 5 and it was not stable when the phone was held into it. It cannot hold much larger than a small Iphone 5. My Note 3 barely fit (without case) and my Nexus 6 cannot fit at all. However, I kept it in my car anyways until the scent ran out. However, there are very few scents available online, which led me to dispose of this vent mount. I moved onto a CD-slot mount which is better for holding your phone.

I thought I would give this thing a shot now that I'm using my phone more as a GPS than I'm actually using my GPS. The mount fit the vents in my 2007 HHR snuggly, and the mount itself SEEMS like it would hold a phone well, except it won't fit mine with a case on it. I think most people today use cases, and the fact that this mount is so shallow is probably the main issue. If the manufacturer had made the arms (which have firm gripping pads on them) deeper, I think more phones would fit, and the product would be better. I like the "new car" smell that came with it, and bought a couple of the other smells. I'll still use this as an air freshener in my car and it might serve a purpose as a mount for passengers on long trips.

This product leaked overnight and took the paint right off the plastic on my dash causing my new $38k car to have a messed up dash. I emailed the manufacture and no response. I cant belive amazon would endorse this brand, I only bought it cause amazon advertised it on their mainpage. Stay away from this product, you been warned. I am considering taking legal action, but honestly dont think it worth the time or hassle. Waiting on a quote on the repair to know if its really worth it.
