365 Read-Aloud Bedtime Bible Stories

I had this book when I was a kid. Purchased it for my children when they were little. I actually learned quite a bit from this book when reading with my kids when I couldn’t understand adult Bible. Now have purchased for my grand babies and am reading with them. Each story is roughly 1-2 pages. There are a couple of questions at the bottom of each story which is great for helping children focus and recall what they learned!

Our pastor recommended these books to read to our children and grandchildren. We liked them so much, we bought a couple for ourselves. These handy little paperbacks are easy to read with each page containing a short Bible story. We both have been surprised with how much we're learning from and enjoying them.

This was my second book of this title because I believe the first book went to a wrong address and was not returned. This will be a good easy to understand book for children and adults.

I read this with my daughter. Great bedtime stories

This may not be super colorful or have bright fun illustrations on every page... BUT it does have this cool feature where it asks two questions at the bottom of every day. It helps my daughter and I grasp what was read and it creates conversation to dig deeper. My daughter is 5. My son's are 2 and 3. They still dont listen much, but theyre doing their best. Haha.

I bought this book to use in an adult English as a Second Language class that I teach. Overall, the wording is great and is easy for my intermediate students to understand. I think that a mid-elementary level child could read this book without an issue and that even younger children could understand it being read to them. I really like that under the title of each story, the Bible reference is listed, so I can help students find where they can read more about it, or a parent could help a child in this way. My only complaint about this book is that sometimes, it feels like the author is trying to not leave any details out by turning it into a story for children and because of that, there are sometimes awkward sentences that seem to be just stuffed with details or names. I think it would be hard to decide when writing a book like this how much to keep in the story to make it as accurate as possible and how much to leave out to make it easy for children to understand. This is my reason for giving the book 4 stars instead of 5: the awkward wording necessary to make sure all of the names and details are included.

Love love LOVE this book. Honestly it sat around on the shelf for a couple years, as my older kids never really got into it. But my 9 year old son decided on his own that he wanted me to read a page per night to him before bed. It has become one of my favorite daily routines and I really look forward to spending this time with him each night. We're almost done with the book now and it makes me sad because I don't want the tradition to end, but I thank God for giving me this opportunity. Have to look for another book like this I guess. Anyway, this book does a great job of walking through the Bible and hitting most of the high points. There is no editorializing, which is to say, the authors never attempt to overlay any specific interpretations or opinions - it's just stories from the bible, in language that kids can understand. My son is now 10 years old and he can grasp these stories well, yet they don't talk down to him. I think probably 8-12 years old is about the right age range. Each story is condensed to one page, and there are 2 or 3 questions in the footer to see if your kid was paying attention. It helps if you, the parent, are at least passingly familiar with these stories, as you can help paint a fuller picture. But if you're not, that's OK too, as you will certainly learn something! Highly recommended!

These are awesome, the price is perfect and the book has easy to read stories that are not boring and get the Bible stories across to the youngest reader. I am ordering more so my Church can give them out to all the children. Update: my 9 year old took this book to camp and came home telling me all about Moses. I couldn't believe how much he remembered. This is a child that hates school hates reading and selectively remembers things. I am so happy with this beginners bible. I have ordered about 30 and continue to order as I fgind the need. Our cvhurvh puts these into blessing boxes. What's so great is as long as a child can read, these books are simple enough they don't need an adult to read it for them. This is great for the nonbelievers we are giving them to. I just can't say enough about this book! My children love answering the questions after each day. And they never let me read just one day! I am even getting these for teenagers as I find it much easier to understand for beginners. I personally had trouble reading the bible when I was young, had I had this bible I would have had a foundation once I was old enough to comprehend a typical Bible.

I am about to start to read the bible for the very first time, but I wanted to get an overview of the highlights first. I thought that would be helpful. I think this book is great, it give you basic knowledge of lots of biblical stories, events and people. I plan to also read this to my son when he is a bit older, maybe 8ish. This is probably not the greatest book for small kids because there are few pictures, but if you don't mind that, I think it's very nice. The language is ok for the younger kids, as long as you don't mind paraphrasing somewhat. Love it.

Stories are good. No pictures except a few black and white. I didnt like that there was no index either. But for the price, like i said the stories are good. Easy to read and language was simplified but not overly simplified. I will be reading at bedtime so the pictures are not necessary for me anyway.

Nice bible story book to read to your children before bed.

This is the first English Bible book I got for my Son, we're both enjoying the story time together and we're really blessed by the word GOD!

Best choice for children. The author tried to present many Bible stories in a chronological order. It's not idle for the small kids. 6yrs onwards it will be a better choice. Regarding the paper quality and pictures, of course, it's not come to the mark.
