Depending on which outlets the units are connected to, seeing PLC sync speeds of 65-380 Mbps and iperf3 throughputs of 50-250 Mbps to wired devices on the LAN in a residential setting. The devices function as transparent ethernet bridges, including acting as VLAN trunks, passing/preserving VLAN tags. Untagged traffic is passed untagged, tagged traffic is passed with its tags.The units arrived configured for static IP addresses of 192.168.0.5. After upgrading them to the latest firmware (available from the manufacturer's site) via their web interface, they switched to DHCP addressing by default. Static vs. dynamic addressing and a few other features are configurable via their web interface. ### ⭐ Did not work for me *by B***9 on January 19, 2025* I have a shop about 20 feet from my house on the same outside meter. Couldnt get it to work so called the Comtrend and was told it should work and they would have a tech person call me back. After a week of waiting for call back, I returned them. About a week and a half later got the call back too late. Makes me wonder if they wait to make call back so it would be after the return window and I would be forced to keep even if they never worked. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good upgrade if you are suffering from WiFi jitter (packet loss) while online gaming *by R***. on May 7, 2025* Mine came with an older firmware PG-9182PT-78R61938CTU-C02_R02.Updated it to latest firmware PG-9182PT-78R61938CTU-C03_R01, but then I could not connect to web interface after updating and even tried to do a factory reset.It turns out the behavior was changed on the newer firmware instead of having a static IP address of 192.168.0.5 it instead enable DHCP on the Powerline by default.
