(That light had the best range of the three.) Motion detection was improved compared to the solar panels that came with Ameritop's version.However, the best motion detection range and sensitivity for both the originally purchased light and the replacement light was observed when no solar panel was attached to the floodlight.So the sensitivity switch was not directly the problem. The motion detection problems I experienced were due to something with the solar panel connection.I have sent back both lights. Upgrading to 2 stars since the light alone was verified to work.update:replacement has worse motion sensitivity distance than the first one. fed up of getting duds! it doesn't detect with the advertized range of 49 feet. this replacement only detects like ten feet away on high setting. going to return these two defective units!not sure why there's all these good reviews. how many bad units are out there just to get a good one?first review:first off, i will update this review if the replacement fixes the issue.i first ordered lepower's white version of this exact same product, which is also on amazon. that one exceeded my expectations. brightness and range of detection are excellent. but i needed a black version to match the exterior trimmings. so i relegated the white one i already have to the back.currently, lepower's black version is a different model with a farther range *but* is on backorder until oct 16. it has a round base not square, so i couldn't reuse the existing holes i already drilled.searching amazon led me to this product which is essentially the same in appearance and advertised function as lepower's white model.the product, packaging and manual i received looks practically identical to lepower's except for the re-branding.now, after installing this, the motion sensor's detected range was only around 15 feet when set to high while lepower's was 45 feet. so i toggled the sensitivity and discovered that no matter what range it was set to it always triggered at the same short distance. i tested various variables and concluded that the switch or component pertaining to the motion detection range or sensitivity is defective.if the replacement is also this bad, i might try a third time because i've come across bad batches of products on amazon this year more than any other year - where the second or third replacement was just as bad. this time i'm drawing a line on two replacements but hoping it won't come to that. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Great Motion-detecting Porch/Walkway Light *by E***J on Reviewed in the United States on December 26, 2019* We have an extended walkway from where we park to our porch. We set this up to light the path from parking to the porch. So far, it works great! We haven't had any issues with the motion dectection. I really like having the ability to switch duration of lighting once motion detection is sensed/ceases to be sensed. There is a switch on the light allowing the user to select up to 120 seconds.The light can also be switched to steady on. However, it will not hold up all night. In other words, one couldn't select "Steady on" and expect it to work as a constantly on porch light all night. I have used it in a few cases as a work light for several hours before returning it to its mount and intended purpose as a motion detecting light. It can be easily slid upward and out of its mount if needed for another purpose. That being said, it feels very secure when slid into its mount.We have been more than satisfied with this light. In fact, we purchased a second one to give to my mother-in-law for her porch. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars PERFECT!!! *by E***N on Reviewed in the United States on November 20, 2019* I bought two of these to illuminate the North side of my house - of course being in the Northern Hemisphere, I need the solar panel to face South - and these did the trick! I really like the length of cord between the light and the solar panel. It allowed me to get the solar panel out from under any potential shadows from near trees.The adjustable lights was a serious plus as each of the two lights I got is mounted on corners of the house, so I could "wrap" the light around the corners of the house. It was actually pretty easy and quick to install too. Took about 20 minutes per light to install, and most of that time was having to move the ladder.The motion detection is actually really good... even when you tell it not to be that sensitive.
