2014 sophomore album from the Psych Folk singer/songwriter, the long-awaited follow-up to her 1970 debut album PARALLELOGRAMS. Linda was a dental hygienist who was inspired by nature and by the cultural revolution going on around her. When PARALLELOGRAMS was finished, it sounded like a masterpiece, but the label had pressed it so poorly, sales were non-existent. Obscurity beckoned. But in the internet age obscurity can be discreetly transformed into a kind of niche immortality. By 2003, PARALLELOGRAMS had become a cult album. And slowly, Perhaps began making music again. THE SOUL OF ALL NATURAL THINGS, for all it's apparent serenity, is also a subtly polemical album, full of exhortations to take a step out of our frantic everyday lives. "We get too far out of balance and we must find a way to get back to our polestar," Perhaps says. "I have a deeper purpose. My soul is giving itself to the people; I want them to be helped, I want them to be lifted." Review: Great - Great music Review: Late Bloomer - Why has Linda been fiddling around with people's teeth all her life when she can produce work like this? It sounds like another record company stuff up when they fiddled with an emerging artist's work when Linda was young and took the soul out of her music. As a result her first album wasn't a big seller and Linda's option of a professional music career sunk with it. Luckily this early work has been re-released in it's original glory and just how Linda envisaged it. And so now, after a lifetime in dentistry, Linda has been rediscovered and has now produced this brand new work. Luckily this time she was allowed to do it her way. I despair over all the great music we could have had if it wasn't for some conservative producer way back then. Linda's style is laid back, but packed with instrumental interest and meaningful lyrics. Track 1 is the standout and is an exceptional song. In some spots I found she sounded like the fabulous Anjani Thomas, but this album is unique enough to stand on its own merits.

Demonstrates that harmonics and rhythms shape a personal yet universal language that pours beauty directly into heart and mind.
I ordered this and the Parallelograms programs immediately after hearing excerpts on NPR. It's personal---the tonalities and rhythms affected me deeply. Linda's music comes from an aesthetic that resonates on the universal dimension that encompasses all forms and gives meaning to specific expressions. It is music that reassures the soul of its connection with all things. I truly appreciate it more than words can say. Elizabeth Cook

40 Years!!!
Linda is one of my favorite artists. She had not recorded for 40 years, so I was REALLY anxious to get this record!! It arrived in a timely manner in great condition, and now I have my Linda Perhacs fix!

A ONCE IN A LIFETIME
This is not your ordinary music production - not with her very unusual, ethereal voice or with her haunting musical creations. But I definitely recommend this - for you will never hear anything like it again

it's nice enough...I applaud her determination not something that hooks me to listen to every day, but will pick it up now and again

Beautiful
I recently discovered this artist. I absolutely love her style and voice. She is 70 now and sounds so great!! I bought her other album "Parallelograms" which she released 40 years earlier. Her voice has not changes at all.

I bought Linda's first album, Parallelograms, in the early 70's and only replaced it a couple of months ago when I bought this, too. Parallelograms brought back great memories and it sounds timeless. But this 2014 follow-up (sounds strange doesn't it? 40-odd years to release a second album) is a triumph. Linda was about 70 when she recorded this. It's such a fantastic album. Her voice is wonderful and the songs are just fabulous - she sounds young and there is a vibrant feel to all of the ten tracks. Everything is so perfect. She is one of a kind and her story is utterly amazing. Find out about her, read her story and keep listening to her music.

Her amazing voice has, not surprisingly, lost some of its clarity with age, and the songs show a preoccupation with spiritual matters that sometimes seems trite. Not in the class of her classic first album.

Gran regreso de Linda Perhacs , un disco que te llega dentro te agarra y no te suelta lo mejorcito del año sin duda.
