POWER COMPANION 18000 MAH

Good quality power bank. Arrived with little power charged and was fully charged (5 stars) within an hour using the power supply provided with my Dell Inspiron 3521. Right now I'm charging the 3521 with the Power Companion. The laptop was at 52% when I started charging it off the bank. Within 2 hours the laptop was fully charged, using 1.5 out of 5 bars (dots) of power from the Companion. Understandably, it's not as fast as a direct connect into a/c but it's not bad either. Very pleased with purchase. Thank you to the Amazon Community for its help.

I love both the concept and the execution of this product. My son can use it during the school day if he's running short on juice—though the primary reason I purchased it is for travel. It offers the obvious benefit of extending your compatible laptop's battery life when you're in a situation where you can't plug in. And the two extra USB ports allow for charging other devices like phones, tablets and even camera batteries. The less obvious benefit of this device becomes evident when traveling to a country like India with an unstable power supply that is known for electronics-killing voltage spikes and brown outs throughout the day and night. Instead of plugging your laptop or phone into the power grid, you plug in this battery and let it handle the abuse. Then you unplug your fully charged Dell Power Companion and use it to charge your laptop and phone, completely isolated from the sketchy power grid. It's perfect! If there's a downside it is weight. This high capacity battery, like others of its ilk, is heavy. This one comes in right around one pound. For ultralight packers this may be a deal killer. But I'm willing to pay the weight penalty for the added run time and peace of mind that comes from using it.

Great extra Battery if you have a Dell. Who doesn't have USB batteries these days? With this unit you can charge it while charging your 'compatible' Dell laptop, or just use it as a USB battery for other devices. Expects to use your current Dell power supply as input. Has the ability to use the 7.4mm connector or the smaller one for input. Comes with two cables, One for the 7.4mm laptop connector, One for the smaller units. The Smaller cable fits my Dell Venue pro 11 Dock.

Works perfectly with Dell Precision 7710. The unit actually recharges my laptop while using extending the operating time by about 4 hours. The 7710 is a workstation class laptop with Quad core Xeon 2.9GHz processor, SSD drives, 32GB Ram, 4GB nVidia Quadro graphics card, etc... This laptop draws lots of power and typically does not last long on battery power alone, typically 2.5 hours in balanced mode, with the pack I used the laptop with the battery companion during a recent international flight and the companion worked flawlessly.

Charged this thing all night, & it still says it's at 2/5 dots. When I take it off charging & press the little button on the top, it says that it shows zero charge; totally dark. I tried plugging it into my laptop, but I think the power companion thinks it has no charge, so the laptop doesn't even see that it's there. I'm disabled & it's really difficult for me to return things. My laptop & 2 power companions were stot tolen on Saturday. I can't always get to an outlet. I purchased this Dell Power Companion battery pack as I was travelling and did not have access to power. Physically, it's quite large and heavy and weighs about a little over a pound. It's solidy built, however. Besides the laptop charging ports, there are two USB charging ports, power ports for both the smaller and larger Dell adapters, and a battery level indicator. I did not test the actual capacity, but it was able to take a Dell XPS 13 Developer Edition from 40% to 90% in about 3 hours (while I was using the laptop). I still had 3 lights lit on the Companion's power level indicator after this. With an XPS 15 it maintained the power level at 80% for an hour. Unfortunately, this power pack does not work with the 2015 Chromebook 11. On plugging it in, it will charge for about 15 seconds then turn itself off. The Chromebook 11 is not listed as a supported device but I was hoping that it would work. I would have given this device 5 stars except that Dell support is pretty horrible. Their technical support was fine (just one call), but their order and warranty support is easily the worst in the industry (6 calls, 12+ reps, 4 hours hold for the same issue). Unless you can return the device to a third party, stay far away because you absolutely do not want to have to deal with Dell support directly.

I got this for my XPS 13 (2015 edition with Skylake CPUs) and it works great. It comes with the power connector that plugs into your device to charge, but it does not come with the cables required to charge the power companion itself. You must charge the power companion with the cables that came with your device. There was a BIOS update available, but I didn't need to update the XPS 13 for the power companion to work. The power companion charges my laptop perfectly. I haven't done any tests to determine how many extra hours I can get, but it lasts long enough that I'm happy with this product. It is also capable of charging cell phones and tablets at the same time. It's a large, but it weighs less than a pound so I don't really notice it in my backpack. I highly recommend this product.

Great battery, including fast charging USB ports, except when it breaks. Sadly you are forced to buy this battery when you have a Dell Latitude, since regular batteries with the same voltage and connectors won't work or won't be "recognized" by your laptop. I would be happier having the option of buying Anker's products for this laptop.
