You use them like a paintbrush, or put some ink on a pallette and pick the ink up with the water brush. Very easy to use and work well, there is full instructions and access to a video for guidance.

I have used these pens on card but not on paper. They work fine on card ( 180gsm ) as long as you do not use too much water, just use the brushes on their own , just blend the colour out with just a damp brush

Can these be used on wood slices

Absolutely they can. The ink is fairly translucent, like any watercolor, so it would be best to prime with white paint. Also they are not permanent, so they will wash off with water.
