This thing is great! Very cost effective! I pick it over my more expensive knockoff! Things I like: it turn on and off with a quick single press of the button. zero wait time for it to balance or prepare. It is not super sensitive but works consistently, about 1.5 inches for a ring or coin. Sometimes I wish it was more powerful, but then it would make this much more complicated and not as precise. I use this alongside another pinpointer that has a depth range, which makes that one need to balance before being put to the ground and takes 3 seconds to shut off. If I can't find it with my main pinpointer (this one), I goto that backup with depth which goes about double the depth but is not as fast to respond to targets in the dirt! Pick this one for speed! I have been using this for 3 years! The size and shape make it easy to fit in most holsters and narrow pants pockets! Super lightweight as well. It's not the high end Cadillac of pinpointers, but it does work efficiently.

This pointer of a metal detector works great and accurate.

It came with a completely dead 9v battery. I installed a new battery, took my 40 yr old Garrett metal detector and went hunting nails in my yard. I just had my roof replaced and the roofers had run the yard with their large magnets. This hand held unit worked well with my Garrett and magnet probe in identifying quickly the many nails that were left. Good for the price.

This detector works well in rushing waster. It came with batteries which is a plus. My daughter used it to prospect.

You can't metal detect very well without a good pinpointer, and this HOMPO Metal Detector Pinpointer does not disappoint. I actually purchased this and a metal detector as a gift for a friend, and he said he really liked it, and it's easy to use and accurate in finding targets. Can't beat that!

Used it for the first time accuracy was good, waterproof not so much. Only submerged about half ttying to pinpoint something and it went haywire. Opened the back (where you replace the battery) and it had obvious signs of moisture. After a day of drying out, replaced the battery and works fine. Havent tried it around water again yet.

This unit actually works slightly better than I’d expected. You can draw it along the (timer in my case) material on its side. Or, use the tip as a directional search, and it’s fairly sensitive. You do get fairly regular false readings that you need to, just momentarily, move the detector away from the work you are scanning, but overall I’ve been very pleased with this tool to date.

Very disappointed with this metal finder. It is not working at all. I tried multiple times in different places, but there was no detection or response. Seems like a defective or very low-quality product. Totally not worth the money. Would not recommend.

Distance wise it will pick up from maybe 1.5 inches. There are videos on You-Tube that explain how to tune them. I won't bother. If I need 3-4 inches I will spend 150$ . I think this will work fine for my purposes. Also it says water resistant not water proof . So buyer beware if you take take it underwater. Comes with stretch cord and sturdy case. If you are on a budget this will be ok.
