The real deal.
This is the very best Tuna you can buy. It's the only Tuna that is caught and processed in North America regardless of what some other tuna salers tell you. The original North American Native people who fished the tuna sold the product name to the canning company. The product quality has maintained the same excellent quality. This fish is not sent to Southeasr Asia to be canned it is not mixes with other catches. Some so called American tuna salers have thier labels put on whatever the fish prrocesser has on hand. Very shortly after tuna season ends Raincoast runs out of tuna and you have to wait until next season to get more. Good indication you're only getting what their fishermen caught. P.S. you will never get yellow fin package as Albacore like in some other brands. Also checked and see which tuna suppiers have been suied for false claims about their product.

I wonโt eat any other canned tuna
I saw this company on bizarre foods w/ Andrew zimmer so I thought I would try it. To my surprise, it was the best tuna from a can Iโve ever tasted in my life. Now the smell of other canned tuna kinda makes me feel sick. I want to compare it to other brands but I havenโt been able to buy them because I feel like I would be wasting money. My parents and friends all agree that raincoast tuna is delicious.

Delicious
This tuna is one solid chunk of meat. There is hardly any water to drain off. And it isn't added water, it's what came out of the meat during processing. My husband and I hate canned tuna, but tried this after seeing it on Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern. I'm so glad we tried it! I've been buying it by the case since. Yes it cost more than your typical canned tuna, however it is sustainably harvested. You can trace each can back to the ship that caught the tuna. It is hand packed by real people! And each can is FULL of tuna, not half full of water or oil. If you like Chicken of the Sea cat food, this isn't the tuna for you, but if you want real tuna, this is it.

Yuck
Sorry, I didn't like it. I love tuna and this is horrible. I much prefer tuna in oil and there are better imported brands, this was inedible even though it was expensive and touted as a high end product, it's a no go for me.

The way ALL tuna should be canned.
Nothing like store canned tuna. Not over processed and tastes awesome.

Expensive, but worth it.
Iโve purchased this a few times. Itโs excellent, but so expensive that the average person canโt make this their new tuna of choice. Before you buy, do a little research. This tuna is nothing like your grocery store Starkist or Bumblebee variety. If Iโm not mistaken (I may be), this tuna is line caught, and itโs filleted and packaged by hand. And itโs only cooked once, unlike typical tuna that is cooked twice (before and after being canned). So the texture and look are very different. Plus, the cans arenโt jammed with tunaโฆ.it has larger chunks of โrealโ tuna pieces in it. But youโre paying for the quality.

Expensive but worth it (sometimes for some people)
This tuna is about twice or three times more expensive than regular can of tuna, depending on what regular tuna brand you buy. In my opinion, Raincoast Trading tuna is worth the extra cost for those occasions and dishes that demand the best quality tuna. The taste will definitely spoil you and you will not be satisfied with regular tuna. That said, for a typical tuna sandwich for everyday lunch, many people may not be able to justify the higher cost.

what you buy in the stores i have to say i dont believe is tuna. it all comes from china so i am very suspicous of what is in the cans. i think it might be dolphin . this canned tuna is caught just off our coast in BC. and you can tell the difference once you open the can. and believe me, this tuna is real and tastes so. its really good. i eat one can on homemade bread mixed with mayo and the hamburger relish, salt and pepper. then put some pickles on the sandwich. really yummmmmmmy. buy this one time and youll see the store stuff is not tuna. yuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

No bones, no skin, just good quality tuna packed in its own juices. Use the juice to help break up the tuna and then use in your favourite tuna dish. Delicious.

Yes, it is more expensive than store bought. And yes, it's worth it. We use it for: sandwiches, soups, for main course on fish day, with mashed potatoes on a side, and carots/red peppers/tomatoes medley. It is on a drier side, you will have to see how you like it, and may be try it as an unexpected ingredient in different recipes, think potato salad. You would not be draining the juice from it, because there is not much of it, can is filled with tuna, AND, it's a tasty tasty broth, not watery juice. If you are buying solid white tuna now, you would be very pleasantly surprised with this one, it tastes like real fish, not canned fish. Try it !

The quality is unsurpassed! Flavour and texture scrumptious and can be enjoyed knowing it comes from a sustainable and local company!

Very good tuna, the only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the price. But there is a good reason for the high price and its because of the way the fish are caughte (fish lines instead of big net that does a lot of damages). The mercury level is also much lower then net fishing (you could eat one can a day and be fine vs maybe 2 cans a week with the other brands because of its high level of mercury). Good service as well, they are fast to respond to emails.
