Just stay 3 inches from the edge of the window or any other corner so you don't crack the block. **Q: Will it work in wooden frame structure with stukko?** A: Yes. You probably would want to use a concrete drill bit to go through the stucco and then use a wood drill bit or metal bit after you get through the stucco. It should work fine. **Q: Are these used with flat boards or aluminum hurricane shutters?** A: I used these with 5/8" plywood. That's ridiculous! Fortunately I read reviews saying it didn't fit and caused failures so I used a deep socket that was the correct size and fit much better. I had to use the included tool for the 3 that fit since they were slightly smaller and the socket I had which was a little bigger. Insane that they can't get the size correct on these, terrible quality control. Other than they they worked well. I didn't use the included drill bit either since it was designed for cement and I was drilling in wood. If you correctly pre-drill the holes and use a socket that fits the screws they work well. I didn't have any fail on me. They are a nice design, a little over priced and the poorly engineered.
