Perfect Reducer With One Minor Catch
I bought a new Laguna 14 Twelve Bandsaw and needed to be able to connect my Rigid Shop Vac for dust collection. I purchased this PowerTec reducer because I knew it would connect perfectly to my shop vac. And I knew ahead of time that it would be the same diameter as my 4” dust port on my Laguna, so I knew it wasn’t going to simply slide over my dust port. But I had seen videos where other folks had cut a small section of 4 inch PVC pipe (Schedule 40) to use as a coupling. I did the same and it worked perfectly. I will say though that I had to lightly sand the inside of the 4” PVC pipe to reduce the wall thickness by just a hair so that it would slide on. It was not difficult at all. I didn’t have a Spindle Sander at the time so I glued a 2 inch strip of 150 grit sandpaper to a 1/2 “ dowel and installed it in my drill press. After running it around the inside of the PVC several times with the drill press set on medium speed, it was just enough to allow the PVC to slide over the dust port. You may not have this problem. The Laguna has an exceptionally thick powder coating finish on it which is very durable but probably also makes the outside diameter of the dust port just a hair thicker than some other brands, which explains why the 4 inch PVC needed just a tiny bit of sanding of the inside to make it fit. You can get a smaller length of 4 inch PVC at both bog box stores if you don't already have some or don't have a need to buy a full 10 foot stick of pipe. I absolutely LOVE the Laguna Dust Collection. Almost zero sawdust gets inside the cabinet or falls out onto the base. I still can't believe it. I've cut a few hundred feet of board and there is less than a teaspoon of sawdust inside the lower cabinet, and about a pinch of dust inside the upper cabinet. 99.99% of all dust gets captured through the dust port. Why other Bandsaw manufacturers have not copied their design, I will never know. Even bandsaw brands that use a tow-port design still have horrible dust collection. It makes no sense. Anyway, if you’re looking for a dust port reducer, this is the one. It’s very solid and thick enough that I would consider it to be heavy duty. Delivery was pretty good. No complaints.

Sturdy, Good fit
Sturdy plastic, but it seems like you pay a little more for the Powertec name. Fits well to my system.

Works as described for 4" and 2.5 " hoses
Works as described. However, the sizes listed are HOSE sizes. So, this will allow you to connect a 4" hose (i.e., from your dust collector) to a 2.5" hose (i.e., to your miter saw or router table). As others have found, the outlet on your saw or inlet on the dust collector is the same size as the larger side of the cone, so you cannot connect this directly to your machine. I admit I have made the similar mistake and had to return a few items. However, that was my mistake. I have used this item several times, and it works just fine. The hoses are a bit snug, but I suppose that is by design, possibly so you can connect hoses without using a hose clamp. However, I used clamps on both side just to be certain. I was able to connect my miter saw and my router table to my dust collector without any issues. I would recommend using as short of a 2.5" hose as possible to help maximize the airflow, if connecting this to a 4" dust collector intake.

Perfect for my needs.
I needed this to convert my 2.5" hose to 4" so it would fit my dust collector bag. Not much to say, other than it did the trick for what I needed it for.

Parts Work Great, If You Can Get the Labels Off
I knocked a star off for this company's insistence on putting their company sticker in the worst location on every part they make. In this case, that placement is smack dab in the mouth of the part. Ordinarily, no big deal. But apparently they've teamed up with 3M and NASA to design an adhesive that will not come off with ANY solvent. Alcohol, Goo Gone, mineral spirits, NOTHING WILL REMOVE this stickiness. Now I get to enjoy a nice sawdust spot there for the duration of it's life. This is mild in comparison to their sticker placement on their 4" to 2 1/2" reducer. In this case, these geniuses put the sizable-thickness sticker directly on the male end to be mated to the hard plastic coupler.

I got this earlier than expected an it works great. It's well made and durable and fits perfectly. However I should ass make sure you read ALL of the description as I have seen some negative reviews for Bellends who gave negative reviews about not fitting and explaining in detail how they tried everything to make it work EXCEPT follow the directions. you need to by the rubber flex cuff to attach to your machines. As this is a solie plastic and so is the out port on your equipment I don't know how people can't understand that there would be no way to put a hose clamp (or duct tape on this) and tighten it. So I would say disregard any reviews complaining about fit and more on to others because it fitas fine and works great and I would highly recommend this product. BTW one last though make sure you know your inside diameter of the hose you are reducing to this doesn't fit many shop vacs but fits my grizzly table saw's overhead dust collection hose (it has a 4" port under the blade and a 2.5" hose coming off the blade guard) and this is because many shop vacs are NOT 2.5". Just measure your hose or check your operators manual for specs and order the correct one as they do offer several different and even universal ones
