## Description

Direct plug-in digital instrumentation system for all 2014 and newer Harley Davidson Street Glide, Road Glide, Ultra Classic, Tri-Glide and CVO touring models. Dig into the 31 illumination colors; independently select colors for the main gauge reading, message center information, bar-graph readouts and gauge labels, or choose from 12 preset themes! The message centers below the main speed and tach readings offer plenty of information and can be configured to show just what the rider wants to see. Gauge display automatically dims for comfortable night time riding and brightens to a high contrast mode for excellent visibility, even in direct sunlight. Speedometer can be calibrated for custom-gearing situations and allows the user to select MPH or km/H in the setup menu. The two smaller gauges can be programmed by the rider for their ideal layout; out of the box options include oil temperature, fuel level and voltage, while boost, air suspension pressure and compass heading can be had with the appropriate MBM upgrade modules! To top it all off, the MLX-8414 features Bluetooth technology for the available mobile app for both Android and Apple iOS devices. Continuously access the setup and customization preferences with your smart phone or tablet! MLX-8414 utilizes the stock chrome trim rings from the OEM gauges. 250MPH (400km/h) Speedometer Tachometer with additional bar graph that wraps around the crown of the gauge Oil Temperature (sender included) Volts Fuel Level wraps around the crown of the Speedometer Gear Position Clock Odometer A & B Trip meters Service Meter (miles until next service) Tire pressure monitoring on factory-equipped models Performance Meters 1/4 mile Speed and Time 0-60 time High Speed and RPM recall Indicators: Turn Signals, High Beam, Cruise Control on/engaged, Check Engine, Security, ABS with Reverse and Parking Brake available for Tri-Glide applications

Review: Great Addition to My Bike - I ordered these on a Sat and they arrived Tuesday morning. They were packaged well and included an instruction book. You can also download the instructions from the Dakota Digital website ahead of time if you want to get a look ahead. Installation was pretty easy if you are a little mechanically inclined. Took me about 2 hours total including changing out the oil drain plug for the oil temp sensor. Download the Dakota Digital Orange App in the app store. Set up for Bluetooth always on. In my case the odometer reading had to be transferred using the Trip Function button programming method as opposed to the phone app. Then I started setting up the displays I wanted on each gauge. I set mine up with 2 readings on each of the small gauges and 2 readings each under the Speedo and the Tach. That gave me 10 numerical readings of information. There is also the fuel bar on top of the Speedo and the Tach bar on top of the Tach. I went to set the clock and it would not keep the hour setting that I would try and save. It would revert to 1 hour prior to the actual time no matter what I set it at. It occurred to me the next day that I probably had DST option selected in the Boom Box settings. I checked and I did have it selected. When I turned that setting off and then manually changed the clock in the Boom Box, it also changed the clock time in the new gauges. A call to DD also confirmed that the clocks are synched, but you cannot use DST setting in the Boom Box. It is great to be able to call a company talk to a live person when you call. Choosing a color theme can be a lifelong adventure. There are numerous preset combo and solid color themes and you can pick. And then you change individual colors inside these themes. You can save 3 custom themes that you create and can load at any time – as long as it in Set Up mode. The 1st ride I took was at night and the colors looked great. Since I live in the sunshine state, I was very curious to see what they would look like in the daytime. My night colors showed up fine until I put my Costas on. They pretty much wiped out everything except the large Speedo and Tach numbers. After experimenting with some colors, I opted on an all white for sunshine and a shade of the green for overcast days. I still have to shift my head a little here and there to see the white and green on the small gauges with my sunglasses but still worth it to me. The 1st ride showed that the gear display was working, except when I stopped at a light and put it in Neutral it showed 0 as the gear as opposed to the traditional green N. Never fear, about 25 miles into the ride I clicked into Neutral at another stop and the familiar green N popped up and appears it is here to stay. While I have not compared the speed to a GPS yet, it seems pretty close with the corresponding Tach readings. But I will compare and there is an adjustment if it needs to be done. I filled up on fuel and am following the directions to get the system to Learn the DTE calculation. I will most likely do the Learn 2 times just to make sure. Part way thru this 1st tank it does seem to be pretty accurate already. Note that the cruise control standby color is red as opposed to the familiar yellow in the stock gauges. It changes to Green when engaged. High beam is the same blue color we are used to. The check engine light is Red and it came on during my 1st ride. Bike was running fine but when I got home I went thru the diagnostics programming and took a pic of each the 2 error codes it was displaying. They were P0522 and U0156. I found the error codes on line and 1 of them was lost communication codes and the other was oil pressure sensor. After a little further research, it seems that changing gauges sometimes triggers 1 or more error codes. It was suggested to clear them and ride to see if they return. I cleared them and have ridden about 60 miles on 2 rides and they have not returned. Overall I am pretty happy with my purchase so far.
Review: display lights bright - display looks great, easy to install and functions are easy to understand.
