High quality rack
The Tripp Lite 9U Wall Mount Rack has been a rock-solid addition to my home server setup, and I couldn't be happier with its performance. It's discreetly mounted in my master bedroom closet, making it an ideal space-saving solution for my networking and server equipment. What stands out most about this wall mount rack is its sturdiness. I've taken the extra precaution of securing it directly to the studs, and it's passed a rather unconventional stress test – I tested its load-bearing capacity by hanging from it, and I weigh 220lbs. The rack held up without a hitch, showcasing its robust build and reliability. This level of confidence in its durability ensures that my networking gear and server equipment are safe and secure. If you're in need of a dependable, space-saving solution for your home server, the Tripp Lite 9U Wall Mount Rack is a fantastic choice. It combines strength, reliability, and practicality, making it a solid investment for any tech-savvy homeowner.

Great case!
It's a great case. The back being left open makes it very easy to access what is behind and is especially helpful to access the wall. The open back and removable sides allow the access needed to fish wires through the wall after the box has been mounted. The overall design is very good. The rack rails are adjustable and the cage nuts and screws are more than adequate. The reversible front door is a nice feature as well. It has a generous amount of space. Cons: The little plastic pieces that the front door hinges go in got squished in one of the rackmount enclosures that I bought. Overall, this is a great enclosure that is worth the money. Tips: Be sure to slightly bend out the metal clips on the mounting bracket so that the enclosure will fit over them and hang. Afterwards, adding lag bolts and washers is easy. I mounted to a plywood wall so I didn't have to worry about beams.

A great value.
This is for the 9RU version. There's no ability to swing out the unit and access the back like the larger ones (for informational purposes). The unit is sturdy, painted well, and easy to mount. I mounted mine on a foundation wall. The mounting plate that gets attached to the wall first make installation much easier. Attach the plate, then hang the unit. The access for cords/cables from above or below is helpful. The provided rack screws and nuts are a thoughtful addition. Indeed, someone determined could break through the removable side panels or front door, but it would take them a little time. Perhaps enough to make a thief go after an easier target. The removable panel (via screws) on the top or bottom are large enough for someone to snake an arm in and remove anything not bolted to the frame and small enough to fit through the hole. I'm using this at home to house as GbE switch, 24-port patch panel, my CAT5e cabling, UPS, cable company router, and 4-drive NAS. There more than sufficient room. I'm very pleased.

Perfect for SOHO use
We needed a piece of furniture to organize the mess of cables, network equipment, and power bricks for our core home office network gear. After days of (fruitless) searching for standard office furniture that might be capable of handling this task, I finally thought of a free-standing rack. Apparently, if one allows the cable mess to sit in the open long enough, the WAF of a network rack increases exponentially. The 6U model probably would have worked, but I'm glad we went with the 9U, as it provides just a bit more breathing space for additional gear. The 12U would have been overkill (maybe). The rack arrived in flawless condition and was well-protected. Sturdily built and easy to work in due to the readily removable side panels and reversible door. Since we have no plans to mount the rack, I added some felt pads to the bottom and went to work. The pics and notes probably do a better job of explaining the rest.

Damaged and Missing Parts
The Bad: Door on one side is severely dented. (Not Tripp Lite's fault, as Amazon's delivery people have damaged a lot of my packages lately. Neighbors have complained of the same.) Missing nuts and bolts. (Not a major issue because my Ubiquiti items come with brackets and hardware.) Defective door lever. (The door locks with metal spring-loaded L- shaped levers. While the door was open, the plastic part holding the spring broke and pieces shot six feet across room, hitting me in the forehead.) So between a dented door, missing hardware, and the defective door lever, I am not happy with this product so far. The Good: The main chassis is nice and works as expected. I just need the front and side doors to secure the devices inside. I've used a lot of Tripp Lite equipment with my clients, so I am chalking this up to a lemon. If the replacement unit has these defects, I will probably stop using Tripp Lite.

Poorly made lock
Lick mechanism shot out from the lock. Cannot put it back.

Attention to Details is paramount
The 9U enclosure itself is top-notch but you would think that the manufacturer would supply enough cagenuts and screws to install 9U's worth of equipment. I shouldn't have to buy extra cagenuts and screws to use this enclosure for it's stated purpose.

It's strong and well build
This thing was exactly what I was looking for. It's sturdy manufacturing and well thought out design made this enclosure perfect for my high traffic security area. All doors are secure and removable for easy access. The front door is ambidextrous. This was perfect for me as I needed it to open the other direction for ease of access. I love this thing and would highly recommend it. Be aware it is for high to mid traffic areas. Left on it's own in a remote location it will not survive a hammer and screw driver or crowbar assault.
