Not to be stupid but does it include the hose?

Not stupid at all. It does not clearly say in the description. Yes, it does. 65' of 1/2" vinyl hose. I believe it is a good product. I have it mounted inside of my garage. I hope I like it as much two years from now as I do today.

Can someone post the instructions to adjust the tension? I’ve lost mine.

Depending on how old your unit is it may not be worth your trouble. I tried to adjust my two year old unit. It was too rusty. I ordered a new one instead. I find that shutting off the hose bib and leaving the nozzle open before retraction is the best way to add longevity to the unit.

how long is the leader (input) hose?

There is a separate short length of hose that goes from the unit to the tap (shown curled to the side of the unit), it is approximately 3-4 feet, it is attached to the inside of the hose reel and is not part of the retracting hose. By the way, the retracting hose is pretty sturdy and doesn't kink even after several years of operation.
