Perfect for a picky cat
We have a cat who’s allergic to everything under the sun and has to take bitter medicine she hates every day. We sprinkle a little of this on top at mealtime and she loves it. It’s made our lives so much easier and her meals that much nicer.

Good for boring prescription diets
Had to switch 13yr old kitty to a prescription early kidney disease diet (slightly reduced protein since her kidney can't process as well anymore and protein in urine). There are much less flavor options with prescription diets, especially if kitty is allergic to chicken. She quickly grew bored of her prescription diet and this beef based topper has increased her appetite and likelihood of completing her wet food meals to a good 70%. Better than the 15% I was getting before. Note: not an official study lol

Large CHUNKS in Beef Liver are not cat friendly
I bought this because I have a cat that has been on a special Rx diet food for urinary tract issues for the last 6 years. The food has worked great but unfortunately it comes in only one flavor. Anyone who is owned by a cat knows they can get picky so I sometimes need to add a little something to entice him to eat his boring food, that’s where this powder comes in. He does like it and it does get him to eat his food BUT… yes there’s a but here. Only about 3/4 of the jar is useable! For us and I imagine other cats as well. As you can see from my pictures there is fine powder like I want but as you work through the jar you find there are large CHUNKS of beef liver. Those may be fine for a dog, not for a cat though. I can’t break them up because they are rock hard and I’m not putting them in my spice grinder, nor am I going to buy a dedicated grinder to attempt to crush these liver rocks into a useable powder because the products should come as a usable powder to start with. I tried putting some of the smaller chunks in his food with extra water and let it sit for a while to soften them… that was a a big ol nope so now I’m left with a plate of very expensive vet Rx food that he won’t eat. And I end up with 1/4 a bottle of liver chunks that are unusable so that makes the bottle a lot more expensive to me. None of my cats will deal with the big chunks at all. I feel like this product needs a better filter/screening system to keep the big chunks out of the bottles shipped and so those chunks can be sent back through the grinding system to made into a useable, fine powder. Does the powder help with a finicky cat? Yes. Is 100% of the bottle of beef liver a usable product? No! At least not for cats. I also tried the pumpkin and none of my cats will finish their food with the pumpkin powder on it. The pumpkin is 100% fine powder, no chunks.

Both Dog and Cat Loved This Stuff
Have a very, very fat Aussie who is on a strict diet. Add this to his diet food and he gobbles it down. Bought it for the dog, but my cat, who we found as a feral kitten, loves it as well. Cat has quite a few heath issues and adding this to his food really helps his appetite when he is not feeling so great.

My dog would not go near it
My dog gets tired of her food rather quickly versus being picky. She is on a special diet so I add different foods to keep her eating. I thought that this food topper was the easy answer and with all of the positive reviews, it seemed like a no brainer. So wrong. The food topper made my dog recoil from her food. So, my recommendation is to find a food topper with a money back guarantee. I would say pass it along to a neighbor with a dog but don't waste your time doing that either.

Bought this for my diabetic Lab
I purchased this product for my Chocolate Lab, she is diabetic and doesn’t always eat the prescription food the Vet has her on (very expensive). I was skeptical about this product but chose to give it a try. She loves this added to her kibble and has had no problem eating regularly now. Couldn’t be happier.
