ICON RV Skylight - NSL2414S - Smoke

Since Grand Design (2018 Reflection) no longer carries replacement skylights for the bathroom, Icon solved this w/many replacement offerings. Even though the dimensions stated were slightly longer, it fit perfectly. The smoke is lightly tinted, not dark like the original one but I actually like how it lights up the bathroom more and being able to see outside. By far it is a much thicker, sturdier product than original one which you can push your finger on to flex. Keep in mind you don't have to order custom, can always go a bit larger bc you won't be able to visibly see it from inside. Bc of previous roof replacement the tpo surrounding the opening had a puckering edge not lying flat having to slice and reglue w/Weldwood contact cement (area must be dry). Applied 4EvaSeal around entire opening to seal tpo cuts and waterproof plus give it a nice clean flat surface, applied Icon caulk (yes it adheres and cures just fine to tape) on top of 4EvaSeal then installed skylight. I opted for caulking underneath skylight instead of butyl bc skylight mfg recommends and caulk spreads smoothly conforming more than butyl which can be difficult to evenly spread while screwing down. Instead of caulking outer barrier I'm installing 4EvaSeal on ALL my roofing seams since caulking needs constant maintenance. I cut smaller pieces of 4EvaSeal installing over each screw head for added padding and weatherproofing, then applied full strips of 4EvaSeal along all skylight sides. So much better than caulking. In addition, I used Steel Self-Drilling Screw, Zinc Plated Finish, Hex Washer Head, External Hex Drive, Sealing, Includes Washer, 1-1/2" Length, #10-16 Threads, which were perfect because of the metal and rubber washer to really secure and not crack the skylight. I am sick of roof items leaking bc of weathered caulk and thankful through this skylight process to have discovered better alternatives. The skylight from Icon is incredible quality, don't hesitate to buy.

I would have took a picture but I didn't think about it while I was on the roof of rv. The smoke color is very dark on the outside. I walked inside but sunshine does come in but the inside part of my skylight is clear but the sun does reflect off the outer skylight. This one is a tad smaller but way easier to set in place. The hardest part was not to over tighten so I used battery drill to get most of it then finished tightening it with a cheap hand held one. Just make sure you have you some rags when spreading the sealant and for your drill head because the sealant will get on it while you put screws in.

We have a 2020 Grand Design 303RLS Reflection fifth wheel. The skylight was over torqued when it was installed and that caused slight cracks around the screws. Those cracks eventually got longer and it started to leak. Grand Design no longer had the skylight part available, so we ordered this one. Even though the measurements given are a little longer than the opening measurements, it fit perfectly. And, no more leaks. It seems sturdier than the original, although not quite as darkly tinted.

perfect fit for a replacement due to a hail storm. Ordered smoke, thinking it would be dark. It's pretty clear allowing plenty of sun in. I would order white / opaque if needed again

Got this to replace the skylight over my bathroom on my 2017 Grand Design 308BHTS. The one I had on before was a lot darker which I liked, but I could not find any other replacements in the size I needed on Amazon. Turns out this specific unit has a little more headroom while standing inside as the dome itself bulges up more, which I found to be a great thing due to my height. I do wish it had a darker tint as this one is practically clear once actually mounted on the trailer. Not as clear as an actual clear one, but the tint in my opinion is too mild. The thickness and quality however is unbeatable. Overall very happy with it
