Does what it says on the tin
I saw this product while browsing on Amazon and I was initially both intrigued and sceptical. After 20+ years of playing guitar and accumulating a basketful of 9v adapters for Boss this, Roland that and Zoom the other I've always wanted a way to streamline my setup and this looked like the perfect solution; but surely it couldn't be that straightforward, right? Simple answer - it just is that simple and effective! Not only can this little bit of kit power all my widgets and gadgets from one source - and a source (powerbanks) that I have several of lying around - it also frees me from needing mains access and makes everything completely portable! It really does just work as described, as long as you stay within the limits of your powerbank and the adapter's MaH output. For my purposes it happily runs a couple of pedals, a mutli fx unit, a looper and and a band-in-a-box unit with the included daisy chain adapter and the drain on the powerbank is minimal. As others have said, invest in a beefy powerbank and all your 9v worries will be history. Only recommendation I'd make to the manufacturer (UK based and not cheapo junk merchants) is perhaps to switch the plastic casing for metal for a little extra cost to give it more of a robust and quality feel; a product this useful deserves it! Totally recommended purchase.

Excellent bit of kit
A fantastic product, does exactly what it says. My pedal board is now battery powered! It gives a nice quiet supply too. Some digital pedals will get noisy if their supply is daisy chained, regardless of where the 9V comes from. If that's the case, I suggest using a pedal board power block with isolated outputs-just plug the little moxi into it, instead of the wall wart it came with. That's what I have done and it works a treat. I am running five pedal from a 10000mAh power bank, and it lasts for hours and hours. Lastly, it's a nicely made bit of kit, and at less than twenty five quid, it is beyond me how people on here are whining about it being too expensive-it isn't its very good value for money!

Fantastic little device - highly recommended
This is a great little device and is really great value. Plug it in to any standard power bank (I use an Aukey) witha standard USB output. Then plug it in to your pedal/s (there is a daisy chain for up to 8 pedals) and away you go! Simple as that. No fuss or hassle, it just works. You could use it to power your whole effects board, if you can't or don't want to use the mains. Or you can use it for playing outside, e.g. busking and street playing, where there is no mains. Brilliant little thing!

Works well, but can be quite fussy about power
First impressions are pretty good, with a decent enough looking build quality and some thoughtful accessories in the box. The main unit consists of a small white plastic box with a lead attached to each end, with one terminating in a usb plug, and the other a standard 9v barrel as used on pretty much every pedal I’ve seen. The leads seem good quality, with a fabric braid outer, but they are permanently attached so you can’t swap them out for ones a different length or replace one end if it gets damaged. The cable itself is relatively stiff so you can’t bend it crazy tight, but only the most compact of pedalboards would pose a problem. First time I tried it I was really disappointed due to all of the electrical noise it introduced. However, that was using a wall connected power supply (like the type you’d get with a phone). I swapped that out for a basic power bank and the vast majority cleared up. Supplied with the main lead is a short power adapter lead that adds an inline power switch. I found the signal was totally clean only once I’d removed that adapter. Final note on power is the Anker bank that I was using can do quick charging or trickle charging. I found the quick charging introduced an odd noise with certain pedals, such as compressors, with cleaned up when set to trickle mode. So, overall this is a gadget that works as it should, allowing you to swap a brace of 9v batteries for one big pack, and free you from being near a mains socket. But, it might require some trial and error, or at least experimentation, regarding what you use to power it.

A lifesaver - just ordered another one
Traditionally I've powered my pedalboard with an AC supply; but just lately I've found myself playing in situations where power isn't available. I'm using a battery-powered amp, which works fine, but using batteries on my effects has turned out to be no fun at all. Some pedals (in particular, Phase and Delay) drain a new battery in less than an hour; others have battery cavities which are basically only accessible by pretty much dismantling the whole pedal. I really don't want to be worrying about that stuff in the middle of a performance. Plus a continuous supply of 9V batteries ain't exactly the cheap option. So, the Li'l Moxie. You need to get (separately) a USB battery pack of the type used to charge phones, laptops, etc. I went for one with a huge 26500 mAh rating, which means it will keep a few guitar pedals powered for absolutely ages (I've racked up about 10 hours playing since the last charge, and still 3/4 charge available). The Moxie plugs into the USB Out of the battery pack and converts power to a single cable at the other end; onto which you fit the supplied 8-way daisy-chain; the outputs go into your effects. Couldn't be easier. As shown in the pic, the battery pack and Moxie are velcro'd snugly to the underside of my board, the individual outputs of the daisy chain have a decent enough length to reach all of the pedals if laid out sensibly (I put in a few velcro cable ties to keep things neat) and the whole setup will happily run eight pedals. Did I say eight pedals? I want ten, sometimes eleven. I don't use all of them in every musical situation but it's a pain swapping pedals in and out. So I'm getting another Moxie, then I can just leave everything on the board. (NB: the battery pack I bought has two USB Out sockets). This will also help out with current draw: the Moxie has a max rating of 2000 mA, which *should* be enough to power eight pedals; but the documentation on some of my pedals is pretty useless, so I don't have a clear idea of the total draw in my setup. Having two different chains equals peace of mind. I was going to dock a star for "Versatility" because the Moxie only does 9V output, no 12V. But I only have one 12V pedal and I don't use it on the board, so full marks. Great piece of kit.

First Impressions... Excellent
Edit: used it this morning in a church service to power four pedals. 2 hours of use, only drained about 10% of my 10,000mah external battery and worked flawlessly. I’ve just ordered another one so that I can have both my pedal boards wired up with them. Silent operation too which was a great plus. Really pleased with real world use of it. I've worked my way through a range of budget pedal power options, to varying degrees of success. But all have offered more noise in the chain when stacking overdrives than I would like. So, I thought I would give this a go, given that it's in theory a quieter solution. On watching reviews of similar products, I plugged it into one of my external battery usb inputs and put an old bluetooth mouse adaptor in the other input, in the hope that there would be a consistent draw of power and therefore the external battery wouldn't shut off. That worked great until I didn't have any pedals switched on, and the battery still shut down. But, given that isn't the Lil Moxie's fault, I can't complain. I played for around 30 minutes, using one overdrive on at all times, then intermittently stacking pedals (with much better success on the noise level front than with previous plugged in power options), and the battery bank only dropped around 4%. So, I think this will be a win!

Excellent - it really works
I had to buy the Li'l Moxie when my previous usb to 9v converter flatly refused to power all three of my effects on my newly built pedalboard - it could power my power hungry 500 milliamp Line 6 M5 on its own or with one other pedal but not all three. I ordered the Hellion Li'l Moxie, plugged it into my power bank and the three pedals on my board, switched it on and the rest was history - all three pedals powered up, no display flickering, no led dimming, no random switch offs - perfect. I love the rubber covers for the unused barrel connectors and the very convenient switch - the only thing I had to do was somehow cable manage the power chord by duct taping it to the top of the pedalboard, it doesn't look pretty but it'll do the job and keep the excess wires from getting in the way. Now I can rest a little easier knowing that I have a lighter and more portable pedalboard that doesn't need an extra AC outlet to power up - I'm impressed!

Works reasonably well
I find I have to unplug it though rather then just switch it off after use.
