Where the white type tends to give you a more gentler support, this black collar gives a firmer support. It seems ideal for the days where you absolutely don't want to be moving your neck.Please note that I have rather a long, slim neck and the sponge just meets at the back (which I prefer as I find it provides more support and comfort all the way round). My neck measures approx. 36-37cm and I find this Regular size perfect, therefore, if your neck is any bigger, you will likely have to release more of the Velcro or get the next size up.I do find that the collar sits rather higher than I am used to with the more squidgier white ones.
