This is for Copper Sulfate Pentahydrate Crystals Same day results, and better next day after good brushing and washing filter. No foaming as with other liquid I tried first, also from amazon. But when I came across this product, I knew it would work well, as I had seen a pool tech guy using this in my pool last year when I had green water in my old pool, which has several palms around it and other vegetation. I used the teaspoon for each 1,000 gal of water doses that another reviewer posted in his review. Is good to have something affordable and effective on hand, and can't wait until I can afford to refinish the pool, which is really necessary in my case.

Why did it take me this long to come across this product? Have purchased algaeside products forever, bought shock, blue shock, but the ingredient is what's in these crystals. This is practically pennies compared to the packaged stuff and the pool service's product. Just let the pool company I will no longer need their services. We got a bunch of heavy rains here in Florida, and this was THE perfect test. Passed with flying colors. I am so thankful for this knowledge of this product and that it is cheaply priced.

I use this copper sulfate to fight tree root invasion of a home sewer line. I believe it works well as long as I use it routinely. I read that small, more frequent doses are more effective than larger, less frequent doses so I use about 1/4 cup flushed down a toilet every month or so. NOTE: Copper sulfate is a preventive measure. If you have a severe root blockage you will likely need to have your sewer line "rooted out" to mechanically cut the roots. Then proceed with routine use of the copper sulfate to prevent regrowth. This has worked well for me as I have not had another root blockage problem in about 8 years. This 5 pound sack of Copper Sulfate crystals lasts a long time. I like to use CRYSTALS rather than powder because I flush when they have only begun to dissolve and crystals can sit in the long sewer line for awhile slowly dissolving for awhile rather than having them flush right past any tiny roots. Good value compared to large box store prices.

I found a drain in my garage that hasn't been used in at least 23 years. (previous owners) I installed a sink and found the drain was clogged. It would take a few hours to drain a few gallons of water. I tried all the typical drain cleaners and nothing worked for months.. I used this and used a little each day or twice a day. After about two weeks the drain is now open enough to drain faster than I can fill it up. It dissolved well and worked for me. I will order more and use it once in a while to keep the roots from returning in my drain pipe.

This is the exact same stuff that's in swimming pool algaecide, it's just a lot cheaper. It works great in my pool. If you add it to the strainer it will dissolve as the water flows past, or you can dissolve it in a jug of water first and pour it directly into the pool. I used two cups of granules in a 14,000 gallon pool and it cleared the algae right up. By the way... there are basically two types of algaecides used in swimming pools. The cheap stuff works for a temporary fix, but it evaporates out of the pool. Copper algaecides, like this one, are more expensive but they don't evaporate. Once you add it to the pool it keeps working for months so it's cheaper in the long run.

I don't like having to mix the crystals in water, but I like even less paying much more for liquid solution ready to use. I just have to mix one pound or so in five gallons of water and wait for it to dissolve. I throw the water into my pond all around the edges for quicker distribution through the water. If there are crystals are left undissolved, I just leave them and add more to mix a new batch. I take care not to add too much treatment to the pond because it is caustic to fish, frogs, turtles, and other aquatic life if applied at too great a concentration. Treatments need to be repeated periodically--unless I've put too much in the first time!

I used this in a water feature at the front of my house. Large rocks were green with algea and nothing else seemed to work. I tired multiple products designed specifically for the task. After this arrived I simply sprinkled a small amount into the water. Next morning the water was clear and all the algea was gone! I then used some on my roof for moss and it worked just as well for that. This works MUCH better than anything you pick up at the local hardware store, and the price can't be beat. A small amount goes a long way!
