Transformers Toys Generations War for Cybertron Deluxe WFC-S35 Red Alert Action Figure - Siege Chapter - Adults and Kids Ages 8 and Up, 5.5-inch

With a somewhat dull and slightly irritating character and only a minor role in the comics and cartoon of the eighties, Red Alert could easily be forgotten. However, he was relatively memorable in being one of the first Transformers to contravene that very important and relevant tagline, ‘robots in disguise’. Admittedly, as a massive flying laser gun, Shockwave made zero effort at disguising himself from humans. But then he never intended to and, unlike Red Alert, didn’t adopt an Earth form. For some peculiar reason, at least fictionally, Red Alert was reconfigured into a Lamborghini Countach, which isn’t the cheapest or most practical car for a fire safety purpose and, therefore, a bit of a questionable disguise. In the real world, of course, it is cheaper to re-colour an existing model to create a new character. As a result, Red Alert was Sideswipe repainted as an emergency vehicle. Around three and a half decades later little has changed and Siege Red Alert is a re-deco of Siege Sideswipe. However, this is no bad thing as the Sideswipe model, with both a fantastic robot and altmode, is a highlight of the Siege line. Red Alert possesses a few slight differences to Sideswipe. He has shorter horns upon hi head, tweaked and improved leg panels that are easier to move during transformation and comes with a different weapon. Instead of the two guns that form the mounted shoulder cannon, Red Alert possesses a rifle and a set of red emergency roof lights that can be combined together into some sort of futuristic axe. Also, much like Sideswipe, in vehicle form Red Alert is free of the battle scarring characteristic of the range. This is a plus as the mould makes for an impressive vehicle, even though it isn’t as striking as the red or black versions of Sideswipe. Another good reason for no battle scarring visible on the vehicle is that there is a forthcoming Netflix version, which presumably will be as dirt covered and scarred as their version of Sideswipe. Overall, it’s a decent figure and is especially worth getting if you make it part of a set/display with the various Siege versions of Sideswipe.

A popular repaint among the Transformers Siege and Generations line, I normally don't buy different characters of the same mold...until I got Red Alert. I really do enjoy this figure- its nearly a spitting image of the Siege Sideswipe, but the head sculpt is different and the main weapon is different. The paint and character is unique enough for it to be worth the money- Good quality as well, nothing has broken or snapped on me yet. I really do recommend getting this figure if you're on the fence about it or happen to see it on sale and would like an additional Siege figure on the shelf. All in all, this is certainly on my top 10 Siege list.

This toy is a repaint of Siege Sideswipe. This is not uncommon as these guys have shared moulds in past TF toy lines. The toy has grown on me after a meh first impression. It is a solid toy (after my 2 year old tried to play with it in car mode and banged him up a bit). Something about him screams generic car autobot - albeit a good one. Transformation is intuitive and satisfying. Unlike a lot of other modern TF toys, you don’t actually need the instructions. Articulation is what you would expect from a deluxe class TF but you can still get some pretty good poses in robot mode. And yes... the car mode does roll (tester by my 2 year old) The only flaw (which could be a bit nit picky) is the transformation of the feet from robot to car. It feels like I am forcing the foot to collapse in and creates a risk that the plastic tab could break but your mileage may vary and maybe it is just my copy. This is a good toy that will make a child happy (words from a man child).

Excelente compra, envio rapido y seguro, el producto llego en buenas condiciones, la caja sellada y en el paquete que venia estaba protegida para conservar la integridad de los juguetes. En cuanto al transformer autobot Red Alert, era justo lo que queria y buscaba en esta serie de War For Cybertron, excelente diseño con la nostalgia ochentera y la reinvención de la nueva serie en streaming, casi similar a Sideswipe, pero con color rojiblanco y la torreta de policia lo hacen ser mejor figura, con muchas articulaciones para poses, armamento con doble función blaster/martillo, sin duda alguna una buena elección para Siege, si no pudieron conseguir a Sideswipe.
