Hard to install, but with good reason
My 18 inch bandsaw rubber tires finally became less elastic and started getting loose on their wheels and almost came off while running, which was kinda scary. These are a different material than rubber, but once you get them on, they work well. They are hard to get on for a reason. They need to be very tight on the wheel to be safe and secure. You do not need to heat them in water and it is recommended that you don't because that can damage or weaken them. The easiest way to install is to take the wheel off the bandsaw and install 2 dowels on a board on a workbench. The first dowel is for the wheel to rotate on. The second dowel is just outside the outer diameter of the wheel and you use that dowel to force the tire onto the wheel by rotating the wheel. Still takes some strength, but it's not that hard and these tires can take the punishment well. Just look for the youtube videos that show this method.

Excellent quality and cost
Powermatic 18 inch bandsaw. Replaced upper wheel a couple of years ago and still running great. Lower wheel with original tire finally broke and replaced with this product. Forgot how tuff it was to install on wheel but fits perfectly once installed. Ordered this tire again as a spare.

Easy install. No hot water needed, no dowels or prying devices neede. Jet JWBS-18.
Actual install of the tires was maybe 2-3 minutes per wheel. I took the wheels off the band saw. Top wheel came right off, one nut. Bottom wheel, after removing the nut, needed some gentle prying with a wonder bar, the bottom wheel is keyed on the spindle, so it takes a little more finesse to get it off. most of the time was spent removing the wheels, cleaning the wheels, and removing the old tires and adhesive (wasn't difficult, cleaned remaining adhesive with acetone), and vacuuming the sawdust. Install was easy. Video shows using a vise to hold the wheel. I used the vice when cleaning the wheels but didn't use a vice to install the new tires. I did stand on the tire, making sure to have the weld under the balls of my foot, then pulled upward in an effort to stretch the tire. Not sure if this made any difference in putting the tire on, but thought I would mention it. 1st spring clamp to contain the tire at the tire weld location. Wrapped tire 1/2 way around the wheel, pulling to keep it taught, and added another spring clamp, (as in video). I put the wheel with the partially installed tire on the floor. Standing in one of the openings of the wheel, I pulled up on the tire and worked it onto the wheel, one portion at a time. It wasn't very difficult, but does take some effort. Watch your fingers. I was surprised how easy it was. I was expecting a lot more difficulty after reading reviews about soaking the tires in hot water, etc. Note, tires were at ambient temperature of approximately 75 degrees. If the tires fail, I will update this review. For now 5 stars!

Hard to Install.
Hard to Install but excellent when in place. I had to build a jig with a scrap 2x4 and some dowels. The video from the company on how to build the jig and use it is excellent. Be prepared to build the jig. I could not figure out how to get them on without it. Once installed they are amazing!

Proper size matters
A very good solid belt/Tire. Called the manufacturer and Rich had very good advice as to how put it on using zip ties instead of the clamps. Was a bit challenging but very doable. works great. As to longevity who knows? That's another subject for another day we shall see. 1. Inspect the item to make sure no nicks in it. Make sure it is the proper width and length ie 18 inch for an 18 1/2 wheel etc.,they are a bit smaller so that when stretch will stay tight. 2. Stretch it out as much as you can first by hand. do not use tools etc. 3. Place/ soak in warm water 120-140 F do not boil no more no less. About 5 minutes or so not much longer. 4. Take out when absolutely ready to do the work. 5. Use zip ties, will need two on each side of the wheel spokes. So 4 total to secure the tire in two locations around the spoke of the wheel. About10 o'clock and 2 o'clock depending on the wheel configuration. 6. Use a wooden dowel, Without nicks or nacks, may wax it first, bit. Hardwood no more than 1/2 inch in diameter, no longer than 10-12 inches, you'll see why. 7. Stretch the tire around the wheel. I sat down on a stool with wheel between my legs 9 o'clock, the rest 6 o'clock on the padded ground, on a towel to protect the tire, and the the other side 3 o'clock to my very heavy out feed table. 12 o'clock is up and where you start. Now feed the tire using the wooden dowel and turn the wheel clock wise as you go on bit by bit. I hope this helped . It took me 5 minutes for each.

Works fine on my Jet JWS-18 Band saw.
I had installed a polyurethane tire on my band saw a few years ago. It failed a few weeks ago. These tires were the right size and I was able to install without any problems using prescribed procedure (immerse in hot water, etc. etc.) Seems to be working fine so far.

Jet jwbs-18 - fits - watch the install video
Excellent value compared to others I found and it seems to be a quality part. I installed this on the Jet jwbs-18 this afternoon. I could not install it until I made the jig that is on the video. I wish I had looked at the video sooner. I struggled for 30 minutes, even soaking in hot water as others had done without success. I am 65 years old and think I'm in pretty good shape but I just didn't have the strength to bull this on. I was ready to concede defeat. Finally watched the video for 3 minutes. Another 5 to create the jig from scraps and maybe 1 minute to install. Sheesh, wish I had known! I did remove the wheel which turned out to be simple. One reverse thread nut to remove. My Jet is back in operation.

These are all the same, so I went with the best price. Arrived on time. They go on easily if you use the drill and dowel trick (search YouTube).
