I use it to roll the seams when quilting. It saves me from having to get up to the iron. Also I don't stretch the fabric and skew the shapes when I use this roller. The roller is heavy and does a great job. Most of the rollers intended to be used the way I use this one are not heavy and enough pressure to make them work can break them. This is heavy duty and I doubt I would be able to break it.
