Better than expected for the price! Seems to be accurate.
I needed to measure a refrigerant pipe that was in an awkward spot inside a mini split outdoor unit. This was available for overnight delivery so I thought I'd give it a try. I was surprised to find that it matched my Klein clamp-on thermocouple exactly when testing the same pipe side by side. This did the job and helped me confirm there was no obstruction in the refrigerant line strainer on my unit. It now lives in my HVAC toolbox!

Not instant read
We have attached individual K type thin wire sensors to key hot water pipes in our building; we use an OMEGA hand held meter. The sensors are seated firmly with insulated tape and are the most accurate (matches our FLUKE) we have found. . The new OMEGA touch sensor must remain in contact for about 30 seconds and is typically 5 degrees less than the permanent one, but accurate enough knowing that difference.

great value
Solid, well made, accurate, easy to use, very inexpensive.

Not even close
Compared it to a Cooper temp clamp and this thing was almost 20 degrees off. Used it for about 30 seconds then found the nearest trash can. Unless you’re trying to read 1000 degrees and a little variance doesn’t matter this thing is not worth getting.

Cheap Alternative
The single thing going for this probe is its price. A probe from Fluke or Omega would be $100-$150 for something like this, and I paid $13. Is the quality the same? Not even close. The build quality and fit and finish are poor, and the metal clamp that protects the cable actually came off in the box. However, the screw went right back in and it was fine after that. Most importantly, the accuracy seems fine. When I compare the readings from a much more expensive probe, I'm generally within one degree. I bought this probe specifically because I have some applications that may damage the probe, and I didn't want to worry about wrecking an expensive probe. At the same time, I want something fairly accurate, and so far it seems to fit the bill nicely.

Works great
Works great with my fluke meter. Had to buy an adapter also but still way cheaper then buying a fluke one.

works good
pretty good for the value

Good for home and light work environments but not recommended for heavy industrial use
This does work well. I bough it to use with PEAKMETER K Type Thermometer I purchased at the same time. However, I was going to use it on plastic extrusion machinery running 700-800F and I have to keep it in contact with dies at those temps. It made me nervous how slow the meter was taking to settle at its reading and I didn’t want to keep the sensor in contact with such high heat for too long. I’ve used $200 units that read in a few seconds. After 15-20 seconds I stopped because I didn’t want to render it useless. It should work fine on engines, motors, etc. but it does work well.
