Prym Tailor’s Ham Pressing & Molding Tool - Dual-Sided Cotton/Poly Blend for Curved Seams, Collars, Sleeves & Waistbands

I don't know why I didn't buy a ham sooner, it's such an excellent ironing tool for shoulders, sleeves and weird shaped projects! This one worked great with the dress I was making and needed it for some puff sleeves and bust darts. It helped making the seams sit way better than if I had used the ironing board.

The ham was placed in very secure packaging, and there were no holes or tears in the seams. It definitely helped me iron out a tailored look I needed for a sewing project!

I bought this for sewing up a set-in sleeve on my knits. It is firm enough to hold everything in place while I sew.

Overall happy with the ham, but has a huge caveat. The two sides are both meant to be used and have different uses! The plaid side is for lower temperatures. The plain cotton side is for higher temperatures. If you use high temp on the plaid side it CAN melt! The downside of this is that the plain side isn't as rounded as the plaid side. I wish both were as rounded—this idea why it only gets 3 stars from me. I have no issues with each side having a specific use, but both should be the same shape!

This Tailor's Ham is perfect for pressing all of those rounded seams on the center front of face masks (certain patterns have a center seam from nose to chin). It is not as big as some other hams, yet not too small. I have been sewing for over 55 years, and have not bothered owning a tailor's ham, but when making many face masks, it has been very helpful to get a nice, pressed look. Glad I bought this.

The pressing ham is just what I need for those fiddly puffy areas in clothing and on cloth craft creations. Ive long wanted one of these, and now I can really shine with my ironing. :-). Unfortunately, though, the sender must have asked a somewhat awkward child to package it up—it was adequate, though, and thats what counts. AND the sender seems to have forgotten that not all of us appreciate receiving a cardboard box which smells like a stale ashtray. I cannot wait to get this thing nasty box out of my sewing room and and out of my vicinity down to the recycling station (I hope the station will not object to a cardboard box which is covered all over with multiple layers of plastic tape.). PLEASE be considerate when packaging for shipping.

I purchased this along with the Prym roll...something I have been debating for a long time until I finally took the plunge and bought them. I looked at all the tailors hams not only on Amazon but also researched elsewhere and as I have had Prym brand for other items previously and not always happy with them, I was a little unsure what to do. I can honestly say that I am so glad I made the decision to go for these! The ham and the roll and both very firm and robust and great to use...I didn't think I would use them much but having used them just once so far, I will certainly be using them regularly. See my review for the roll and I would suggest buying both! I used the roll for a seam area on a small bag but they will also be great for normal ironing certain areas of clothing...far better than a ironing sleeve board...so much better. The quality of these are great...firm, robust and solid...perfect!
