Excellent grass seed. My front lawn is almost 75% shaded due to a large oak tree. I have tried Bermuda sod and St Augustine sod without success. After raking the ground and within 2 days, grass started coming up. It is now been about 2 weeks and it's all really filling in. I'm thinking in another week or two I should actually have a lawn. Hopefully it will last in the Texas heat this summer. Highly recommend!

I had little success this spring with the Greenview Dense Shade Seed, not all the seeds pop (germinated) and the few seeds that did pop are just not doing well, they look thin, weak... its a little upsetting because I spent good amount of effort on sowing the soil, over-seeding the property, and then the last few weeks nurturing the seed. The price point and some reviews appealed to me, but it was too good to be true...

I've been attempting to sprout and grow new grass in the middle of the summer in not an especially hospital space so really can't expect too much but has been doing ok so far.

Purchased this grass for a shady area in my backyard. I loosened the soil with a rake but not thoroughly. Spread the seed by hand, raked the soil again, and watered it. Watered the soil only at night and sparingly. Germination started 3 days after planting, easily over 90% germination rate. I greatly recommend this grass. Hopefully, it will do well under partial shade.

The grass never grew, I followed directions and even reseeded just a tiny bit. Perfect weather here for grass to grow. Have no clue what happened. Bought a bag from home depot and it shot up like grass should.

I brought this for a few bare spots in my lawn. I put down topsoil before spreading the grass seed out. I watered it for about two days. The rain did the rest of my watering. It took about 7-9 days to see growth. I’m pleased with the results

This is pretty decent seed, but don’t be fooled by its “deep shade” designation. It may do better than other grass varieties, but it still wants some sunlight. It isn’t magic unfortunately - so it’s hard to give it a higher rating since it doesn’t fully solve the problem it was purchased for. I would probably relabel it a light shade grass seed.
