What kind of cutting is this? 1st, 2nd, or 3rd?  What is better to give a rabbit?

I've been buying timothy hay from Small Pet Select for about a year now.  The cut depends on the time of year.  They sell 1st cut and 2nd cut. This box was 2nd cut. It is still a much better quality then the local chain stores.  And I love that it is delivered right to my house in a great storage box. I've noticed lots of brown parts in this hay. Is that normal? It seems to get brown very quickly.

Question 3

Usually my guinea pigs love this.  This box is much coarser and they are hardly eating it.  It is more like bedding than food for them.  Why?

This is the first time I bought this product for my pigs and I have the same problem! I wrote my review accordingly. I’m pretty sure it’s meant as food, not bedding. But since my piggies won’t eat long, hard sticks or all that brown grass, I won’t be ordering this product again.
