I used this to insulate my pellet grill. I was very surprised on how soft the material is! It’s so soft you could use it for sleeping on. I was honestly surprised on the quality when I opened it. Far better then any other welding blanket I have ever seen and I’m a Welder by Trade so I use them all the time. The material is about 1/4”+ thick. The 36”x36” was the perfect size for my Pit Boss 1000SC. Didn’t need to trim it at all. I noticed a difference in the temperature staying more consistent and less pellet consumption. Game changer for winter use as I use my grill every week all year long. Pellets not being that cheap this will save money and pay for itself in less than a year for me! Would purchase this again without thinking! 1/3 the cost of buying the manufactures cover and better quality!

I have not performance tested this, but I bought 2 and the other person had and says it works well for protecting against slag/spatter burns and whatnot. I bought mine for an as-needed basis and keep it stationed with a lil label I made. Put some hangers on it to make it easy to retrieve. Finding USA made emergency response equipment can be a daunting task, so I commend the manufacturers as I received an item quickly and as described. Seems durable, it ain't an itchfest, and gives me confidence it'll work as intended when needed. Thanks.

I used the fireproof felt under a piece of granite that is used under our pellet stove to protect our floor. Easy to cut and use. The quality of the felt is excellent.

Seems to work as it should. I had never used one before but now I wouldn't do without one. Seems durable but I have had nothing to compare it to.

Tough, lightweight, extreme resistance to high heat and easy to cut (for shaping to your liking). I would buy another one in a minute. We put this down on the glass top stove to cover the surface and prevent scratches. It acts as a buffer between the stovetop and a wooden tray where we place other handy kitchen items.

Works well as a welding blanket. It keeps hot molten steel from reaching the floor.

Very high quality mat. Nicely sized with good thickness, but not so much that you can't flex it into tight areas. Its pliable, soft and durable.

Use this to cover my smoker during cooler weather. It is well worth the money.

Used this for a wood stove pipe pass through in my ice fishing hut. Works well.

Bought to put over my pellet smoker for during the cold Canadian winters. Worked great for my 18 hour brisket cook overnight when the temperatures dropped below -20.

I bought this for a DIY recipe that uses methanol in the homemade fuel device. Methanol is insanely hot burning. Way more temp than the propane bottle attached head it was to replace on the hiking burner cooker I bought in stores. It also happens to act as the non burning wick in the chamber. For some reason wicks of most any sort arent available to even try at any location in the nearby near 2 million pop. sized city. Same goes for welding blankets like this, pure carbon felt instead of fiberglass. Its like the welding shops had no clue what I was talking about. If filled wrong the meth stove can build vapor, vapor pops the chamber top off (POWERFULLY) and the bottom portion tips out of the reflector/stand. Trial and error, not common knowledge until it happened. The blanket was folded out in front of this, and took what was likely invisible methanol fluid on fire as well as the red hot glowing mantle top without a problem. Nothing under it was harmed. You can bet it spared the floor it was on.

As claimed -- a soft material perfectly suitable for insulation.
