Have you ever tried to play music from your phone, or iPod, or other device through a single speaker? All you get is one side of the stereo signal. You can buy stereo to mono adaptors, but it still only gives you one side of the stereo signal, and sound quality can be horrible. You would think it would be easy to find an adaptor to handle that, but it's not. I was ready to build my own until I found this. I couldn't buy the parts to make my own for what I paid for this little device. For what I want it for, it's perfect. Build quality seems solid. Just take a look at the inputs and outputs to see if you need any adaptors for the way you'll use it. This met my needs very well, for a very good price. Highly recommended. I looked, and it looks like the lead-free solder is all dried out and didnt bond well. if I flow some tin-lead solder on there it should fix.
