Abode Key Fob | Arm & Disarm Your abode System On The Go with The Touch of a Button - Works with All Abode Security Systems

We bought this for our family member who take care of our dog. She always forgets the alarm code so we bought this Abode Remote Alarm fob for her. She now leave it in her car and it works great for her. Also the Abode app lets us know when the fob is used.

I love the abode system and have purchased many of their different products. The fobs are of limited value but I'm using them in my shop to carry with me for an emergency "panic" button in case of a shop accident. I've programmed the 4th button to trigger a medical emergency alert to the monitoring service. Note there are a couple limitations using these - you need to have abode enable the 4th button to trigger an immediate alarm (which is fine), but you can't cancel the alarm from the same fob once it's triggered. I understand the reason for that but I wish it was an option you could set. I ended up getting a second fob to keep in the shop just to be able to cancel a false alarm. ( I could use my phone but I don't always have it and once that alarm goes off I don't want to be fumbling to find and unlock my phone). Also the symbols on the fob are not at all helpful - I ended up covering them with printed labels - there's no way I'll remember what each one does in a panic situation. Overall - it's a useful accessory but could be a lot better with different labels and different firmware or just changes to the software configuration.

The push button part works great. However, the rubber covering over the buttons doesn't last but around a year. Then it rips and falls off. Buttons are then exposed and vulnerable to pocket lint, moisture, and who knows what else. This is my second one to fail. Abode needs to find a way to make the cover for the push buttons a little stronger. The batteries in the whole abode system are still going after years but the remote is a short timer.

First, I did not purchase this abode keypad here, I purchased it from the abode website. The less than desireable Cam 2 cameras. I would never purchase those again. Please see my review of this. It works. If you enjoy having to re-sink the FOB every two weeks because it continously falls off of your system, then this is for you! Customer supports advice is to, "not push the buttons too often" when turning your alarm on or off.
