Absolute Perfection!!!
This is the most delicious coffee I’ve ever tasted! For my taste, it is better than Starbucks, Panera or any other hyped coffee shop brew. It has a smooth, rich, non acidic taste and no bitterness, making it perfect for drinking black. I wouldn’t dare ruin this coffee by adding sugar and cream! The beans are dark, fragrant, and the natural oils are visible. It grinds easily and evenly. I’m not sure about the caffeine content, but without a doubt it gives a nice caffeine kick. Everything about this coffee is superior. You can see, smell, taste and feel the quality. It’s worth every penny!

Great Coffee and a Good Price
If you enjoy strong, black coffee and have not tried Sumatran coffee, you should. The Amazon brand is a real bargain, much less expensive than the name brands and just as good. Sumatran coffee is dark, strong, and smooth. It has a very straightforward flavor profile that just tastes great. I think of it as the Rolls Royce of coffee, but that's just my opinion of course. To fully enjoy this great coffee, I would encourage you to invest in a good coffee pot and grinder, as well as a digital scale (to weigh exact portions of whole beans to consistently get just the flavor you want), some sort of a water filter, and an airtight cannister. I use a 5 cup Bonavita coffee maker, a Tuni grinder (set to 16), Zero water filter, an Inevifit digital scale(at 20 grams of coffee beans for 16 oz of water), and an Airscape medium canister (which will hold the entire 12 oz bag of the Sumatran beans). I also use a permanent mesh filter. Paper filters soak up the some of the oils that are in the coffee. Some people prefer that taste, but I do not. I realize that the initial cost outlay is a bit pricey for all of this. However, if you enjoy coffee and drink it every day like I do, it's absolutely worth every penny. You will be amazed at how much better your coffee will taste with the proper equipment and a little effort.

Mild
Good coffee but a bit too mild for me. I like a bold but not bitter coffee and this is not bitter and has a decent taste but even adding extra coffee to the brew, I can’t get a strong enough coffee flavor for me. I would buy this brand again but I’ll look for a darker roast.

Strong flavor
It has a strong pungent flavor that I puked on when my wife made it way too strong. You have to use about 15% less, and it tastes like espresso. Not too acidic, strong flavor can be too strong.

'Meh' might be generous. Over roasted, IMHO.
So, to be clear (since Amazon does not), this is for the "Organic Fair Trade, Sumatra" beans. I like coffee. I'm not a coffee fuss-pot (I will drink the old stuff in the pot at work). But I do appreciate good coffee, and I try to keep several levels of 'quality' at home, depending on what I'm in the mood for and whether I plan to sit and savour it... or take it out to the garage and get sawdust in it while I work. I'll also lay out that I'm not a fan of Starbucks, as a rule, because I think they sell a lot of overpriced, over-roasted, mediocre beans. (They do some really nice stuff too, but it's available in VERY limited quantities and markets. The problem with their coffee isn't know-how or understanding, it's marketing and/or market driven). But I digress. This is advertised as a 'dark' roast. I had hoped, since it was a "single origin" "Fair Trade" "Organic" Sumatra, that it was really going to lean to the medium roast side of dark. It does not. This is cooked just to the point I can tolerate. Lightly burned would be a better description. Oily bean surface. Smells like burned toast. Just - not great. This is not a coffee that I will outright refuse to drink (or choose to return). It just makes me a little sad to see what were probably fairly high quality, tasty beans - now pretty nearly indistinguishable from any other bean on the planet at this level of roast. The magic has been cooked out of them. Pooh. They are reasonably fresh - they still foam & outgas when wet down. They are much tastier (to my palate) than the Starbucks French Roast that my office seems to like... (but then that tastes like charred cardboard strained through a burned bagel.) So if you like an heavily-roasted style of coffee, this is probably a pretty good choice for you. It's a high-end burnt roast. I did find that if I blend it half/half with their "Just Bright, Light Roast" beans, it improves both coffees. So that's what I'm doing. The price is very reasonable, which is why I took a gamble. I will not buy these again, however. Just really not my thing. Apparently I can't review the other Light Roast beans separately, so I'll just say here that the "bright" beans are fine. Better than the average grocery store brand. Not over roasted. Nothing special. Just fine. Probably going back to fair trade Tanzanian peaberry from another source.

Good straight up coffee
I love coffee. Drink it black and strong dark roasted. Grind my own, thus I buy whole bean of course. Some can get expensive with exotic roasts. Lower costing value coffee tends to be flat tasting to just plain bad. This is an exception. Affordable, fresh, and a good all round decent roast. In fact, I'm having it for my afternoon coffee right now. Want to save money and get a good cup of coffee? Then here it is.

Very Tasty Coffee and well priced!
I tasted this coffee at a friend's house - and was amazed when told it was Amazon. Prior to this, I purchased the coffee beans that were double the price. This is a very smooth dark roast and has always arrived in a timely manner and well packaged. I haven't purchased any other coffee since finding the Sumatra whole bean blend!

So so
It is Okay, but not as tasty as other vendor. Of course, the price is on the low end as well.
