Never thought it would be so easy. There are quicker ways to shave; the catch is that they are so expensive. Love the focus and satisfaction that is afforded by the straight razor. Actually relaxing and fun. This razor is very comfortable to hold and is secure in the hand which is nice when you are in the area of the carotid artery.....Extremely smooth, close shave.

My go to straight razor. I love wet shaving it is a skill and much cleaner shave but while you are learning, you will get nicks and cuts. So be careful this uses straight razors so it is very sharp and can cut deep, this is for experienced shavers.

Very good for the price. No nonsense, exactly what a shavette should be. I will order again if I ever need to replace this one but I dont think I will.

First off I've not used this for a full shave yet so I can't comment on that. I've only used it for some trimming and touch ups. It seems like fairly decent quality though and the fact that it comes with a pack of one hundred derby blades makes it a great value and worthy of your consideration when making a decision on this type of razor. I took away one star because on the one I received I have to guide the blade mechanism into the handle when closing it to prevent it from rubbing the inside of the handle on one side. Still a good purchase at this price point. Update: I used this for a full shave this evening and it did a great job although I didn't purchase it to use in place of my double edge razors it will get the job done nicely.

Got this over a year ago, havent bought any other razors since, unreal savings. Its not exactly like using a real strait razor that you sharpen etc, but you cant argue with the price. I have a thick beard and literally have had it for over a year and have plentyof blades to go

The Derby blades are not the best, they're probably a good starter but I find I have to change the blade after my first pass if I want to get a close shave. This holder will not hold the blade level for me meaing it's tilted in the arms. the edge of the blade does not end at the start of the guard. the space between the guard and the blade tends to collect flesh and if you're not careful with it it will slice you.

Bought this to use as an edger for my beard. It was my first time using a straight razor and it was very easy. No cuts. The blade was still very sharp after first use, so I’m thinking the other 99 blades will last me over a year very easily.

If you have a lot of hair on your face this is a must have.
