Slices canes VERY thin
The media could not be loaded. I love how thin I can slice my canes using this tool however it’s pretty bare bones. There are no guides or measurement markers or marks on the dial so you know when you’ve cranked it a full 360. I bought self adhesive measuring tape and applied it myself. Also a crank to advance the clay instead of a knob would be much better. On the plus side, it does have a safety feature. It is made well and does what it claims. I’m glad I bought it. They also offer a deluxe model for twice the price.

Works as advertised but some trial and error needed.
I have only made a few slices so far but they're all even. You do have to hold the cane onto the platform when lifting the blade or it won't stay in place and you'll end up with uneven slices. It was not too hard to put together however the instructions were lacking. They kept saying use screw a or screw b but there were no pictures of which screw was screw a or b so you kind of have to figure it out from the pics which aren't great. And why did everything have to be double wrapped in plastic? One should be sufficient.

So glad I got this
This arrived quickly and all you have to do is put on the blade arch. My blade met at the base evenly but it did rub/scrape one side of the arch on the way down. It took some adjusting but in the end I got it to an acceptable state I just have to gently apply slight pressure backwards when slicing to avoid it completely. It makes super thin super consistent slices and is extremely easy to use. For people that just need to slice canes and aren't worried about cutting at an angle or cutting canes bigger than about 2.25 inches a side (for square), this is all you'll need and I have no need to ever pursue the full size slicer.I'm excited to do more polymer clay veneers now.

Value & Quality did not meet expectations
Wasted Money. No matter what I retried I could not get the blade level with the board. Only cuts I made were from blocks of polymer clay but the blade did not cut all the way down to the board.I can’t even give it away, Ive tried.

lucy clay cutter
I love this clay cutter! The instillation instructions are good, I did have to adjust all the nuts and bolts to get it installed properly , had to push the sides where the blade comes down until it was at the right Height for the blade to be level with the cutting board but got it to work properly and it works great!. I wish they would have put lines on the board, you do have to figure out how many turns to turn the knob to get the same size cut ,all my cut pieces are the same and I feel its worth buying rather than trying to guess by hand where to cut your clay.

Not worth the price
I’ve used one other cane slicer, a 3D printed one that was terrible, and there didn’t seem to be anything much different on the market that I could find so I went for it and tried this one. This clay slicer is a good concept, but there are a few things that prevent this from being worth $99.First and foremost, it can’t cut short canes. 🤔 Not all of us are mass producing long canes so this is a huge drawback for me. Even if you are making long canes, you end up wasting the last two to three inches.Secondly, and this annoys me to no end- the clay just does not stick to the wood surface adequately. This causes the clay to lift up when you lift the blade after each slice, thus ruining the next slice because it’s not in the precise position anymore. Also, when you slice down with the blade, because the clay is not stuck to the wood surface, it presses down on the front of the clay and the back end lifts up. You have to hold it in place to ensure it doesn’t move.Third issue- while the screw that moves the clay forward is very precise, you can move it a hair’s width at a time, awesome! BUT, once you’ve turned the screw all the way to the end, you have to spend 5 minutes reversing it back to its original position and my thumb and forefinger get sore. Yes, I know first world problem. But for nearly $100, they could’ve put a more comfortable dial or lever to perform this task.So this machine does what it’s supposed to, but not perfectly. It needs more work.

Sharp blade
The blade is very sharp but I don’t feel I get a precise cut each time b/c my clay either sticks to the blade and/or squishes my cane when I cut.
